Kachanivka
Kachanivka nature and historical
reserve
Can boast one of the largest
Ukrainian parks. The territory of the
complex embraces 550 hectares.
Here you can find 18 ponds and
lakes. In the park zone, visitors can
find beautiful landscape elements
such as “Intimate square”,
“Romantic ruins”, “Air bridge” and
other.
Gazebo M.I. Glebova

is an architectural monument of
national importance located in the
village of Kachanovka, Chernihiv
region. Built in the first half of the
19th century. It is an integral part of
the Tarnovsky estate park. It got its
name from the name of the composer
M.I. Glinka, who visited Tarnovsky
and loved to relax in this gazebo.
St. George's Church

The temple was built during 1817-

1828. in the Empire style, which was
very popular in those days. To this
day, the church has retained its
authentic appearance with its four
paired columns at the entrance, the
bell tower attached and the empire
design of the facade.

complex on the territory of Baturyn,
is a museum of the National
Historical and Cultural Reserve
"Hetman's Capital".

The Hetman's Residence

Performed the function of “the

President's Office” during Hetman's
rule. The Hetman's Residence is a
place where all the branches of
Hetman's power converged. This
brick one-story building represents
the housing of the Cossack foreman
and the premises of government
institutions of the Hetmanate.

Chernihiv Oblast, Ukraine.
 Razumovsky Palace

One of the few of the palaces and

mansions remaining from 18th
century in St. Petersburg,
Razumovsky Palace is situated on
the Moyka Embankment close to
Nevsky Prospekt and is one of the
city's finest estates. It got its name
from Kirill Razumovsky, the great
Hetman (Cossacks leader) of
Ukraine and President of the
Academy of Sciences.
Resurrection Church

An architectural monument of
national importance in the city of
Baturin. The tomb of the last hetman
of Ukraine Kirill Razumovsky.

Nizhyn
St. Nicholas Cathedral
Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas in
the city of Nizhyn - a building from
the time of the early Ukrainian
Baroque.
Museum "Nizhyn Postal Station" is
a unique museum institution for
Ukraine dedicated to the
development of postal business, both
local and in the country as a whole
in the 17th - early 20th centuries,
located in the city of Nizhyn
(Chernihiv region); one of the
original numerous attractions of
Nizhyn, which is always popular
with tourists visiting the city.
Annunciation Cathedral

Included in the complex of structures

of the Annunciation Monastery and
located on its territory. The cathedral
is one of the most important
architectural dominants of the center
of Nizhyn.
All Saints Church

Built in 1782, on the site of a

wooden Greek temple that existed on
this site since 1696. The customer
and organizer of the construction of
the "Nezhin Greek Brotherhood"
with the assistance of Ivan Mazepa.
Now the All Saints Church is the
second cathedral of the Chernihiv
diocese, the Orthodox Church of
Ukraine.
Nizhyn Gymnasium of Higher
Sciences

Located in the southwestern part of

the city of Nizhyn on the right bank
of the river Oster, in the former
suburb of Magerka next to the park.
Before the main facade until 1908 t
was a city square (now a park); the
rear facade faces the old park of the
estate I. Bezborodka, which retained
its planning and partially - the
dendrological composition of
vegetation.
 Kruty
The memorial complex in memory
of Heroes of Kruty in the Chernihiv
region was founded in 2006. as a
historical memorial museum, which
highlights the liberation struggle of
Ukrainians of 1917-1921, in
particular, the battle of Kruty, which
took place at the end of January
1918. This military history museum
is located near the village of
Pamyatnoye, Chernihiv region, at a
distance of 800m from the railway
station Kruty.

Transfiguration Defensive
Monastery

This monastery-fortress complex

impresses with a variety of religious,
residential and economic brick
buildings. It is enclosed by high
stone walls with eight towers.

Triumphal Arch (1786) - a unique

building in the style of high
classicism on the Left Bank;

An interesting tourist location in

Novgorod-Seversky is Nikolaev
Church. A wooden one-bath church
located on the edge of a high
plateau. According to the
conclusions of S. Taranushenko, the
first researcher of this monument,
"the master appreciated the beauty of
the area and built a church that
organically fit into it." The church
was demolished in 1760. It is made
of beams on a brick set.
 Assumption Cathedral
Of the XVII-XVIII centuries. in
Novgorod-Seversky - a brick five-
banner cathedral located on a high
hill of the Pridesnyansky plateau in
the historical center.

Gymnasium

Since ancient times, the city of

Novgorod-Seversky was known as
one of the largest centers of
education on the Left-Bank part of
Ukraine. The first male gymnasium
in Left-Bank Ukraine was opened
here. Great traditions in Novgorod-
Seversky and in the field of female
education. In 1826 a female
gymnasium was opened in our city.
Chalk Quarry
A long time ago, in the 1870s the
locals discovered a high quality
Zdolbuniv chalk deposit. At that
time, Ilenki brothers, Czechs by
origin, got to know about this, they
drew attention to the huge deposits
of chalk and built a small cement
plant near the town of Zdolbuniv.

Anthony Caves

Anthony Caves of the Trinity

Monastery in Chernihiv are a
monument of underground
architecture of the XI-XIX centuries.
They were founded in 1069 as a cave
Christian monastery by Prince
Svyatoslav Yaroslavych and St.
Antony Pecherskyi.
Saints Borys and Hlib Cathedral

Saints Borys and Hlib Cathedral was

built in Chernihiv in the 12th century
on the foundation of an older stone
building of the 11th century, and was
rebuilt several times.
During the restoration in the middle
of the XX century the buildings
returned to the old Rus forms.
The interior has preserved ancient
frescoes, inlaid floor.
The Chernihiv Collegium

is one of the first educational

institution in the Cossack Hetmanate
for complete secondary and,
subsequently, higher spiritual
education, established on the left
bank of the Dnieper.
 Kozelets
Cathedral of the Nativity of the
Virgin (1762-1763).
It is a unique monument, which
combines elements of Ukrainian and
Rastrelli baroque.

16:30 – 19:00 – free time in Trostyanets arboretum or additional excursion on the
premises (2 h – the guide will tell you all about the local trees and plants)

local lore, where you can take a master class on making metal jewelry and
household items, as well as taste local honey.

Hetmans Mnogogrishny, Samoilovych, Mazepa, Razumovsky invite you to visit the

National Historical and Cultural Reserve "Hetman's Capital", where the palace and
park ensemble with the restored palace of Kyril Razumovsky (1799-1803) built in
the classicism style by the famous architect Cameron awaits you, the citadel of the
Baturyn Fortress, the house of General Judge Vasyl Kochubey (XVII century) and
the Church of the Resurrection of Christ (1803). The revived Baturin belongs to the
symbols of the Ukrainian spirit.

The city has prepared for tourists a huge number of attractions, the most prominent
of which are St. Nicholas Cathedral (1669), near which was the famous "Black
Council," the Cathedral of the Annunciation (1716), the Church of All Saints
(1780). Particular attention should be paid to the former Gymnasium of Higher
Sciences, one of the most prominent graduates of which was M. Gogol, as well as
the museum-complex of the postal station (XVIII century).
