FUTURE TENSES

1. Present Simple – schedules and timetables


The film starts at 8 pm
Affirmative: ‘s’ ONLY for he,she it
Negative: don’t / doesn’t
Questions: Do / Does

2. Present Continuous – plans for 100%


I am flying to Malaysia this summer
Affirmative: am,is,are + ing
Negative: am not, isn’t, aren’t + ing
Questions: Am,Is,Are + person + ing

spontaneous
3. Future Simple – spontanic decisions, promises, offers, predictions based on your opinion
I will always love you, I promise ;)
Affirmative: will + infinitive
Negative: won’t + infinitive
Questions: Will + person + infinitive

4. Future Continuous – actions which will he in progress at a specific moment in the future
This time tomorrow I will be writing my exam
Affirmative: will + be + ing
Negative: Won’t + be + ing
Questions: Will + person + be + ing

5. Future Perfect Simple – actions which will be finished before a deadline / given future time
They will have finished work by 8pm
Affirmative: will + have + III / ed
Negative: won’t + have + III / ed
Questions: Will + person + have + III / ed

6. Future Perfect Continuous – actions which will be lasting some time at a specific moment in the
future, but they will not be finished!
By the end of March, they will have been reparing the road for 2 years,
Affirmative: will + have + been + ing
Negative: on’t + have + been + ing
Questions: Will + person + have + been + ing

7. Time clauses
When, while, as soon as, before, after, until, once, by the time, next time + Present tense (Present
Simple/Continuous/Perfect)
Time clause + present form , future form
As soon as I graduate from university , I will start a career as a lawyer.
