Section 1 – Description of the Role


Team Captain
On-site support role responsible for the audit and control of stock, monitoring, resource planning,
administrative duties and co-ordination of data
In addition, to ensure that the client’s requirements are adhered to at all times and that agreed processes
are followed.

Responsible for All RAS colleagues on a daily basis working within the Clients
depots

1.2 Overall Purpose of the Role


To support the OSM in the delivery, control and monitor of the RAS stock auditing
colleagues working within the designated depots.
• To carry out stock auditing duties in a fixed site or sites which require shift cover (i.e.
for holidays or long term sickness etc) as deemed appropriate by management.
• Maintain and develop relationships and effective lines of communication between RAS,
client and client appointed 3PL.
• Administrative duties to include weekly time sheets, new starter training and sign off,
pre inspection sheets, filling and filing of audit paperwork and soft data entry,
scheduling, holidays and uniform requests, any auditing associated task and last but not
least conducting audits
• Ensure that an efficient & robust service is provided in a consistent fashion at all times
to the client, so client KPI’s and Ways of working are met.
• Coach new RAS colleagues
• That all relevant objectives are achieved in a sustainable manner.
• That all RAS colleagues are treated in a professional manner at all times.
• Ensure all allocated shifts are worked and time and attendance expectations are met.
Health & Safety Purpose: To take a direct interest in the health and safety of yourself, your
subordinates and others who may be affected by your work activities.

1.3 Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role


1.3.a Schedule the team to maximise efficiency and delivery of the KPI’s
1.3.b Submit weekly timesheets for all RAS colleagues by the Monday morning for the previous
weeks work to your OSM
1.3.c Ensure all RAS colleagues adhere to all audit processes at all times
1.3.d Ensure every RAS colleague completes a pre inspection sheet and they are filed safely
1.3.e Ensure any issues raised are reacted to in good time noting detail of the investigation and
response.
1.3.f Compile performance and monitoring reports on a weekly/periodic basis as prescribed by
your OSM
1.3.g Ensure that all personnel are issued with & wear corporate uniform & PPE as instructed.
1.3.h Develop effective working relationships, both internally and externally.
1.3.i Coach all new RAS colleagues
1.3.j To ensure the communication channels between all parties are robust and working at all
times.
1.3.k Attend regular updates (Conference Call/Meetings) as directed by the OSM, and with
clients as requested.
1.3.l Signing off new starter forms

1.3.m Support the OSM on appraisals/job chats in a timely fashion as laid down by RAS Group.
1.3.n Maintain site logs to include visits, meetings, issues, investigations, productivity,
schedules, pre inspection sheets, absenteeism & holidays.
1.3.o Support the Check the checker objective by delivering audits on auditors
1.3.p To complete all additional reasonable duties as requested and within the desired time-
scales.

1.4 Health & Safety Duties


1.4.a Communicate regularly with staff through formal and informal channels on safety
matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high.
1.4.b Ensure that the RAS safety image is reflected positively through your actions and those
of your subordinates.
1.4.c To direct activities of all colleagues, ensuring that they are properly trained to
competently carry out their duties and responsibilities as well as ensuring that they
acknowledge and accept a personal responsibility for safety.
1.4.d Take responsibility for ensuring that a safe system of work is produced and
communicated to colleagues prior to the commencement of the work activity.
1.4.e Ensure that work activities are properly managed and supervised.
1.4.f Manage the safety performance of your colleagues and raise and breaches in accordance
with Company Procedure to your ROM
1.4.g Group Safety Support: You will be required to work closely with the Group Health and
Safety team who are available to provide safety advice and support. Furthermore you
will be required to ensure that safety initiatives are implemented within your areas of
control.

1.5.a Ensure all sample sizes and delivery accuracy are consistently achieved across the depot
1.5.b Ensure timeliness and accuracy of all data provided at all times
1.5.c Develop colleagues to at all times through the year to provide suitable cover in your

1.5.F Meet all the requirements of agreed ways of working and site principles

2.3 Experience
1. Previous experience at this level.
2. Retail Management/Warehouse/Supply Chain experience is beneficial.
3. Experience within a client facing role.
