HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SHOW

Baby trees were handed to Stella McCartney’s guests,
explaining that planting them will help offset the carbon
dioxide produced by the designer’s show.
This Paris Fashion Week has felt deadly serious at times,
with the threat of the coronavirus behind every cough and
sneeze.
A special collaboration with the archives of Erté, the
fashion illustrator of the 1920s, gave her the opportunity to
add whimsy via prints and embroideries while retaining the
unfussed appeal of her relaxed silhouettes.
She really played up with accessorizing many of the looks
with earrings, brooches, and necklaces in the shapes of wild
animals. Flat lay blue stylish summer t-shirt

FASHION
ILLUSTRATOR
JaeSuk Kim (JSK) is a fashion illustrator and art
director based in Sydney and Seoul. Kim’s illustration
career began, when he first designed a series of quirky
shaped bag in early 2010 under the name of Susu. Along
with the bag, he developed a signature character to support
his bag design; Long legged, small pouty lips and short
haired with playful and fashion forward attitude. As the
founder and creative brain behind his personal
brand Susu, he has been illustrating Susu girls, which
caught the attention of Bloomingdale's.

11
Since then, he has creatively collaborated with Bloomingdale's, Style.com Korea, Swide.com, Vogue
Korea, W Korea, Vogue Girl Korea, Allure Korea, GQ Korea and Chic Mademoiselle, Draw a door and
many other clients such as Bulgari, Cartier, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacob, Valentino’s design
headquarters and many more.

STYLE & TECHNIQUE

The ethereal garments are created primarily using

water-based media, and they’re vibrant explosions
of color—Kim often lets his pigment flow freely
over the page, embracing the diffused edges as if
they’re bunches of lightweight fabric or feathers.
“I add shapes, lines and textures spontaneously to
create an abstract and fluid form to represent
couture-like dresses,” Kim explained on Instagram
post. Describing one of his favorite approaches, he
said, “I squeeze water droplets from the brush, then
watercolors are added onto these droplets.” While
unpredictable, Kim knows that even blunders can
yield something unexpectedly delightful.
“I think the beauty of watercolor is that even if you
make a mistake, it somehow adds a special touch to
it.” – JaeSuk Kim
