Abstract

1. . Creating an Awareness Among the Village People About the Conservation of Energy.

Energy conservation awareness is the understanding of the importance of using energy

efficiently and sustainably. It involves promoting the adoption of practices and technologies
that reduce energy consumption and minimize the impact on the environment. The objective
of energy conservation awareness is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, mitigate climate
change, and promote sustainable development. Individuals and organizations can take several
measures to increase energy conservation awareness, including adopting energy-efficient
technologies, using renewable energy sources, and reducing energy consumption through
behavioral changes. By increasing energy conservation awareness, we can reduce our carbon
footprint, save money, and contribute to a healthier planet. Energy conservation awareness is
critical for achieving a sustainable future and should be a priority for individuals, businesses
and government around the world.

2. Plant Sapling and Water Them to Save Our Environment.

Planting saplings and watering them is a simple yet effective way to contribute to
environmental conservation. Trees play a vital role in mitigating climate change by absorbing
carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere. Planting more trees can help to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions, combat air pollution, and provide a habitat for wildlife.
However, planting trees is not enough; they need to be nurtured and watered regularly to
ensure their survival Watering saplings is an essential aspect of tree planting that is often
overlooked. Adequate water supply is necessary for saplings to establish themselves and
grow into healthy trees. In many regions, water scarcity is a significant challenge, making it
even more important to use water efficiently. Therefore, water conservation practices such as
rainwater harvesting, drip irrigation, and mulching can be adopted to ensure that water is used
judiciously. Overall, planting saplings and watering them regularly can contribute to a
greener and more sustainable environment. By taking simple steps, such as planting a tree and
conserving water, we can make a positive impact on our planet and help to secure a better
future for generations to come.

3. Contribution to Swachh Bharat national level initiative of Government of India.

Swachh Surekha is a ranking exercise taken up by the Government of India to assess rural
and urban areas for their levels of cleanliness and active implementation of Swachh Ata
mission initiatives in a timely and innovative manner. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has become a
‘Jan Andolan’ receiving tremendous support from the people. Citizens too have turned out in
large numbers and pledged for a neat and cleaner India. The major objective of the Swachh
Bharat Abhiyan is to spread the awareness of cleanliness and the importance of it. Taking the
broom to sweep the streets, cleaning up the garbage, focusing on sanitation and maintaining a
hygienic environment have become a practice after the launch of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Now we have started to take part and are helping spread the message of ‘Cleanliness is next
to Godliness’.

2.Introduction to Activity 2
Plant Sapling and Water Them to Save Our Environment

2.1 Objective

The purpose of tree plantation is to save the endangered environment and to beautify our life.
Trees are valuable gifts of nature. They are known as the best friends of human beings. They
benefit us in various ways. Our environment is one of the most important aspects to survive
on this planet. Moreover, it is the only thing that can make life sustainable. Without it we
cannot survive even a single day. For instance, our skin will burn, the lungs will get rupture
and our blood pressure would rise.

2.2 Description

World Environment on 5th June every year. People from more than 100 countries celebrate
this day. Furthermore, the world environment day is run by the United Nations Environment
Program (UNEP). Since the year 1973. Above all the main purpose of celebrating this day
was to spread awareness. The awareness was about the conservation of our environment.
More over to also take various preventive measures to avert the effects of Global warming.
Since we all know the global warming is the root cause of the ruin of our environment.
Therefore, it is our duty to protect our environment. And stop all the exploitation that is
destroying it. Because in the end, it is our basic need for our survival and our generations
ahead.

World Environment Day

On the world environment day, we all take a day off from our work. And join various
campaigns to spread awareness about environment protection. Moreover, we all plant small
saplings in a barren land so that it may grow and flourish in the land area after some years.
Also, we take part in various processions to make people aware of this day. So that they may
also take part in protecting our environment. Air pollution is one of the major causes of
Global Warming. Because of which many hazardous Consequences are arising. The problem
is reaching a point where people are not able to breathe properly.

Dept. of EEE, VVIET, Mysore Page 8

Activity Report

Moreover, disease like lung cancer is affecting even the minors. As a result, is a major threat
to the people living in urban areas. To reduce the risk of air pollution China is establishing
various air purifiers in their ecosystem. With the help of these people are at least getting
pollution-free air to breathe.
In addition, it is also taking mandatory measures like population reduction, banning the use of
plastic, and planting trees in every community. This can help to avert the ruining of the
environment caused in the past years.

3. Introduction to Activity 3

Contribution to Swachh Bharat

3.1 Objective

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is such an initiative, in which the participation for every individual
is equally and very important. Although the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan needs the cooperation of
every Indian yet the co-operation of the students of India plays the most important role in
making the campaign truly successful. The role of students shall bring about behavioral
changes in public and encourage healthy practices, spreading awareness and strengthening
the cleanliness systems. Clean India also brings forth changes concerning investments by
foreign countries leading to the economic development of our country and its growth. Under
the Swachh Bharat initiative, massive door-to-door garbage collection and disposal activities
were initiated. This helped in addressing the problem of garbage disposal.

3.2 Description

The students from rural areas strongly need the awareness about the healthy habits that is
why the authorities and responsible teachers should regularly teach students about the healthy
habits and their benefits. Usually, Rural areas use dustbin almost nowhere which is the
biggest reason for the cleanliness campaign to be operated in these areas. Students should
have a habit of using dustbin in schools as well as at the houses and should also ask their
parents to use it. The educational authorities should step ahead to make a new rule under
which there would be a mandatory class for every student in which they would be taught
about the cleanliness, the benefits of cleanliness and the losses that meet due to lack of it. The
authority should also ensure the presence of every student in that class. The students should
be taught the healthy habits of sanitation and hygiene like brushing teeth twice a day, bathing
regularly, cutting of nails regularly, washing hands before having meals, avoid eating
unhealthy and stale food etc.
The students should also conduct several cleanliness drives in guidance of their teachers like
cleaning of their class, school, mess, playgrounds and surrounding areas of their School. By
keeping cleanliness in and around the school, students can convey a deep message to the
society, and I am very sure that it will not fail in making other people realizing the value of
cleanliness and indulging other in the campaign.

Activity Report

Swachh Bharat Mission needs to be a social mission. It touches the life of every Indian and
calls for every one’s participation. There can be no better ambassadors of such a Nobel cause
than students.
In terms of planning for student involvement, I think this might be feasible:

 Undergraduate students in colleges can take up the main role in their respective
localities to organize school going students in their locality
 This team of college and school going students can then generate some funds through
collection. We already do to for Ganesh Chaturthi, Durga Pooja, and New year
celebration etc. I think people will start contributing as their awareness is growing.
 Then, based on the monetary collection and students can start cleanliness drive every
2 weeks. It’s important that if they create a mechanism to manage waste, its
maintained as well in long run by proper delegation of responsibilities.
 Students will graduate to be working professionals. Hence, it’s important that they
pass on their responsibilities to younger ones by sharing their experiences on Swachh
Bharat Mission.
 As the students will get involved, this mission’s core idea will start reaching every
home and transform our country.

3.4 Activity Outcome

This mission was to clean India and remove its dirt and dust. India at that time became very
much unhygienic and garbage was thrown here and there by people. So, this mission was a
need for this country. Its conclusion was this that - due to this people understood the
importance of hygiene. The cleanliness campaign has seen improvement in the living
standards of Indian citizens along with spreading awareness about defecation, cleanliness etc.

This campaign has had the effect that every person from every corner of the country is
participating in it, due to which the country is starting to be clearer than before. If all citizens
keep making similar efforts, then the goal of complete clean India will be achieved soon.
