GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING THE TEACHING INTERNSHIP PORTFOLIO


2nd Semester AY 2023-2024

Welcome to the culmination of your journey as a student teacher in the Bachelor of Technical
Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd) program. The Teaching Internship Portfolio is a testament to your
dedication, growth, and readiness to embark on a career in education. This portfolio encapsulates the
essence of your internship experience, offering a comprehensive reflection on your development as an
aspiring educator.
Throughout this portfolio, you will find a collection of insights, reflections, and evidence that
illustrate your journey through the teaching internship program. From the initial anticipation to the final
reflections, each section unveils the milestones, challenges, and triumphs you encountered. Moreover, this
portfolio is not merely a compilation of tasks completed but a testament to your commitment to the teaching
profession. It serves as a platform for you to articulate your teaching philosophy, synthesize professional
readings, and reflect on your alignment with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST)
domains.

PARTS OF THE TEACHING INTERNSHIP PORTFOLIO

Title Page

The title page should prominently display the title of the portfolio, the name of the student teacher, the name
of the educational institution, and the date of submission.

Approval Sheet

The approval sheet should include the signatures of relevant authorities acknowledging the completion and
approval of the internship. A template will be provided which will include the necessary signatures
acknowledging the completion and approval of your internship.

Certificate of Completion

The certificate of completion verifies that the student teacher has successfully fulfilled the requirements of
the teaching internship program. A template will be provided, certifying that you have successfully fulfilled
the requirements of the teaching internship program.

Cooperating Teacher’s Certification

This certification confirms the student teacher's participation and performance in the internship, signed by
the cooperating teacher. A template will be provided, confirming your participation and performance in the
internship, and signed by your cooperating teacher.

Pre-service Teacher’s Clearance

Pre-service teacher’s clearance certifies that the student teacher has completed all necessary obligations
and requirements for the internship. A template will be provided for the pre-service teacher’s clearance,
certifying that you have completed all necessary obligations and requirements for the internship.

Table of Contents

A comprehensive list of all sections and subsections in the portfolio with corresponding page numbers for
easy navigation.

Introduction

A brief overview of the internship experience, including the objectives and goals of the portfolio.

Acknowledgements

An expression of gratitude to individuals or organizations who have supported the student teacher during the
internship.

Retrospection

Reflective commentary on personal growth, challenges faced, and lessons learned during the internship
period.

Curriculum Vitae of the Pre-service Teacher

A detailed summary of the student teacher's educational background, relevant experiences, and skills.
Include professional photo.

The Cooperating School

Include discussion relevant to your Cooperating School – Historical Data; Vision, Mission, Goals and
Objectives; organizational structure highlighting the department where you are affiliated/connected; other
relevant information that may describe the school.

Synthesis of Professional Readings

A summary and analysis of scholarly literature relevant to teaching and education, demonstrating
understanding and critical thinking.

Weekly Journals

Reflective entries documenting the student teacher’s weekly experiences, observations, challenges, and
insights during the internship.

Narrative Experiences, Evidence, and Reflections on the Different Philippine Professional Standards
for Teachers (PPST) domains:

Reflections on experiences related to each of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers domains,
supported by evidence and analysis.

Photocopy of the Final Rating Sheet from the Cooperating School

A copy of the final evaluation/rating sheet from the cooperating school, providing an official assessment of
the student teacher's performance. The original copy will be submitted to the course facilitator.

Appendices

Supplementary documents, artifacts, or evidence supporting the student teacher's experiences and
achievements during the internship.

MECHANICS AND SUBMISSION

The portfolio must be submitted as a hardbound copy.


The cover should be white color hardbound with engraved texts of the Title Page.
Font size should be 11, Arial; 1.5 spacing.
The submission deadline is May 10, 2024 (to give due allowance for checking and review)

Additional Information:

The course facilitators encourage student teachers to exercise their creativity in crafting their portfolio. As
aspiring educators, your ability to think creatively is invaluable. Therefore, this serves as an opportunity to
demonstrate the essential 21st-century skills.

Ensure all sections are clearly labeled and organized logically.

Use professional language and formatting throughout the portfolio.

Review and proofread the portfolio for clarity, coherence, and accuracy before submission.

Adhere to any specific guidelines or requirements provided by the educational institution or internship
program.

Separate guidelines for the Teaching Internship Oral Presentation and Classroom-based Action Research
will be provided the soonest possible time.
