Course Objectives:

Human happiness is underlying aspiration behind every human activity. Happiness Experience is also a measurement of the distance between one’s reality and
one’s ideal reality. By understanding the methods and ways for personal happiness growth, we essentially enhance wellbeing of society. In today’s post Covid
time it is all the more important to revive and cultivate older wisdom adages today than ever in past and imbibe in organizations. To understand the dynamics of
happiness (a) we need to understand & experience Body Relaxation, (b) we need to understand and discipline our mind on daily basis, to take care of our
interaction with self and others, (c) we need to make sense of our true nature, feel ourselves as meaningful persons in places where we live so that we feel
ourselves a part of bigger existence with clarity. And (d) We need to be able to apply best of our self at our workplace whether we are associated as employee
or employer. There is a great need to deal with crossroads, hence the immense importance of this course to understand the dynamics ladders of happiness.

Intense Physical work, (c) Body Acceptance, (d) Understanding Body’s Memory (Runanubandha) (e) Self-
Hypnosis (f) Other Contemporary methods

Module 2: Disciplined Mind 25%

 Introduction to Joyful Mind. Boundaries of Mind, Relationship between Mental Health and Happiness
 Basic Value: Disciplined Mind! Concept, Dimension and Significance
 Joy of Intellect
Methods: Disciplining of thoughts through (a) Will power development, (b)Creative Visualization Techniques,
(c) SCV Formula for Happiness (d) Other Contemporary methods
 Emotional Grit
Methods: Emotional wellness through (A)Catharsis, (b) CBT: Happy Self Talks (Mirroring), (c) Dissolving
energies of Anger, (d) Overcoming Self-Doubt & Self-Hatred (SDSH) (e) Other Contemporary methods

Module 3: Spiritual Sense 25%

 Spiritual Happiness. Limitations of Body Happiness & Joys of Mind.

Module 4: Happiness Applied at Workplace 25%

 Happiness at workplace: Curt Richter’s Drowning Rat Experiment (Hope for survival), Role of Hope in
Employees’ Happiness at work
 Establishing Organizational Culture of Wellness: Life Mission, Sense of Purpose, Alignment of Individual &
Organization Self, Shared Values, Cultural Norms, 10 Touch points, Peer support, Organizational Climate.
 Basic Value: Resilience! Concept, Dimension and Significance
Methods: (a) Awareness Centering Techniques (Balancing Psychic centers), (b) Walking Meditation, (c) Zen
Garden, (d) Inculcating Habit of creating Happy Moments, (e) Implementing Unclutching mindset for recovering
from depression / failures (f) Living in Awe

Course Learning Outcomes:


On completion of the course the student will be able to:
1. Identify levels of happiness.
2. Build happiness intensity at each level through experiential ways.
3. Prepare students for uncertain situations in life.
4. Display Resilience at organizational workspace.

Pedagogy for Course Delivery:

This course will be delivered through a “blended learning” method. The course will be lecture and highly practical and activity based. The teaching will include
demonstrations, discussion, story sessions, outdoor activities, online sessions, that integrates physical, mental and spiritual aspects. In addition to the practical
demonstrations, the course instructor will spend considerable time in explaining the students individually the nuances of happiness from all aspects of life
including personal and professional. Optional tour to physically challenging outdoor games or mentally challenging Amity Military training camps and peace
building spiritual centres in and around Amity Campus will be suggested for better effectiveness of course objectives. Experiential learning and hands on
activities will be conducted and evaluated.

List of Professional Skill Development Activities (PSDA):

i. Build Digital / Physical Happiness Box: Create Content for Social Media Community : Daily Affirmative poster messages, Poetry, Dance Video,
Motivational Audio clip, Blogs, Game creation, Extract happiness from any corner of your area of influence, Sanitary Pad Boxes in washrooms,
Happiness calendar etc. Submit your Box or Install Happiness Box in the Campus . Click pictures, Make a 30 second to 1 minute vlog and submit it
for the Happiness App or website database. Share Video link, Picture of installation as a proof of submission for PSDA 1
ii. Reflection: Read 1 popular book each on Human Mind from both Indian and western perspectives and summarize in 6 pages each the differences
or similarities found. (Guru Nanak, Kabir, Krishna, Jesus, Zarathustra, Mira, Prophet Muhammad, Buddha, Mahavir, Basho, Jalaluddin Rumi,
Osho, George Gurdjieff etc`). It will go on blog of happiness website. Please share link of summary posted on website blog as proof of submission
of PSDA 2
iii. Community Happiness: Presentation on your Contribution –Any One area
a. Amity Happiness Chatbot /Website;
b. Run one #CommunityHappiness Campaign / Challenge activity.
c. Invite one speaker from Corporate or social NGO. Host event online,
d. Adopt a Notice Board in group and Hapify It ,
e. INVITE audience online, Make youtube / Instagram live / FB live and discuss one issue of Organizational happiness from curriculum for
45 min -60 min. Submit the YT Link, FB link , Insta link with 1 page event summary write-up for 400-500 words for the Amity
Happiness newspaper / Blog / social media promotion along with photograph of the speaker, profile , company logo , and title of the
speaker
f. Oher options for contributions in discussion and approval of your faculty.
