Main Idea Notes

Meeting Logistics ● Any staff member who works closely with these two students
were encouraged to attend
● One member was the note taker and emailed these notes to all
members after meeting
● Students progress, observations and next steps were discussed

Discussion of ● Extremely poor attendance

Ezekial ● Student is very lost at school - could be due to lack of
attendance or other factors
● Was referred to for special education in preschool but was
denied
● Started out as just being at grade level at the start of
kindergarten but is now below grade level
● Suffers from anxiety at home, possibly due to illnesses
● Was a premature birth
● Progress monitoring shows concerning drop in phonemic
awareness and letter sounds
● Frequent tardies - mom may need support from family liaison
● Will need to reach out to family liaison to learn more about
home life and rely information about students academics
● May benefit from soft spot if he arrives on time
● Is happy at school, shows gratitude twords adults, is happy to
see teachers in the morning

Discussion of ● Family liaison sometimes picks her up from home

Daleyza ● Little connection with friends
● Making steady growth in progress monitoring scores
● October 15th was her frist day at school
● Attendance was extremely poor from october-decmeber (25
absences) but has improved in current semester
● Next steps for this student include continuing conversation with
family liaison and discussing importance of attendance with
mom and informing mom on how to support her read plan at
home
● Student has started attending lunch bunch to try and help her
make friends
