It goes unsaid that great vision without great and capable people cannot be

achieved. Employees are the strength and asset of and to a company. A masters in
Human Resource management would help me choose employees that would make a
companies’, vision and mission a reality. Human resource management is a course
aimed at improving the well being of the employees while ensuring a productive,
consistent and stable growth of the company. This course allows me to pursue my
dreams of working towards establishing a work environment that drives people
towards loving their work. I have always looked for opportunities that guided me
towards the path of connecting with people and making their lives less stressful. The
same reason also drove me towards choosing psychology in my undergraduate level.

Human resource management stood out to me, as the career opportunities

associated with them aid in establishing a much needed work life balance and well
being of employees in the present fast paced and goal oriented world. This field
allows me to apply my skills and knowledge to the work arena, giving me a chance to
both pursue my interest and put my abilities to use. The course explores various topics
including recruiting, organising and planning towards improving the well being of
employees, training, selection etc, which allow me to make the best use of my
organising, communication and administrative skills.

My interest in Human Resource management comes from my belief that the

foundation of a company lies in its employees. The better the employees are at
working, the more will be the success of a company. I strongly believe that for a
company to withstand its competitors and the fluctuations of the economy, its
employees contribute a great deal. My interest also stems from a genuine passion for
administration and organisational management. It wasn't until my third semester of
undergraduate studies that I came to the realisation that my adeptness in
administrative and organisational skills might not be fully utilised within the field of
psychology. This realisation prompted me to incline towards Human Resource
Management, recognizing its emphasis on administrative proficiency, organisational
acumen, interpersonal communication, and the holistic well-being of companies.

I have actively worked towards maintaining my academic scores since the

moment I decided to pursue my masters abroad. I am currently pursuing a three year
undergraduate degree- BA-Psychology, Literature & Political Science at St. Francis
college for women,Hyderabad,India. My current 5 semesters aggregate CGPA is at
8.2. I chose this course in order to keep myself open to more career opportunities. I
did my intermediate from Sri Chaitanya junior college. I studied BiPC-Biology,
Physics and Chemistry in order to accommodate my interest in the sciences.I passed
out in the year 2021 with 90.2 %. I studied my 10th in Vikas-The concept school and I
passed out with a 9.2 cgpa.

I have always inclined towards choosing a course that aligned with my interest
and passion and have worked hard to maintain a good academic score. I worked at the
Government Institute of Mental Health as part of my internship in my 4th semester of
undergraduate degree. This experience helped me realise that I would flourish and
thrive in a work setting which lets me use my administrative skills along with my
interpersonal communication skills.

Human Resource management has always been a field of Business

Administration that intrigued me. My decision to shift from psychology to human
resource management comes from the realisation that unlike occupational psychology,
human resource management not only focuses on employee well being but also on
administration, recruitment and selection, which have always spiked my interest. I
also was part of organising committees of many clubs in my schooling years, which
included managing and ensuring a stress free environment for all the volunteers who
were carefully chosen by the committee. In order to accommodate my brief interest in
Occupational Psychology, I undertook a 6 week programme focusing on the same.
The course aided in my realisation that my interests and strengths lie in training,
coaching, communication and well being, all of which are accommodated by this
course of study.

I am an individual who enjoys the hustle of a busy and scheduled life. I thrived
in situations which require multitasking and undivided attention. I worked with the
event organising team all through my highschool and took art classes as a part of my
school curriculum. I was also an active classical singer through the ages 6 to 15 and
took part in singing competitions throughout my schooling years. Later in my
undergraduate years,I worked with the NSS team and have been an active volunteer
throughout my undergraduate years. I took part in several sustainability oriented
environmental activities contributed to the cultural activities organised by the
institutions I have been a part of. I currently work as a photographer in the psychology
club of our college. I took part in several art and fashion related events in my
schooling and undergraduate years in order to accommodate my interests in art and
sketching.

I hosted many inter and intra school events and worked along with the english
department in writing for the school’s yearbook for 2 years. Apart from this I have
been an active participant of lectures and seminars that discuss the subject of Human
resource management and business administration. I worked towards understanding
group dynamics through seminars and workshops throughout my college years. I also
have undergone the gatekeepers training for identifying suicide symptoms and aiding
in prevention.

Apart from activities and events, I’m also working on my project in psychology
which is titled as Loneliness, Social Desirability and Prosocialness among emerging
adults with the groups straight males, females and queer. Through my experience in
research I also managed to familiarise myself with much needed data and analytical
skills such as excel, spss, word, spreadsheets etc.

Over the course of years, employee recruitment, training and well being have
taken up the central place in the work sector. Proceeding my masters, I see myself
working in a corporation as an HR officer aiming at helping the employees manage
stress while maintaining stability in terms of the company’s productivity, contributing
to its growth. I would work hard to reach my goal of being a successful, established
HR officer. I see myself working on a book focusing on the improvement of work life
balance and increasing work productivity. Quality work setting also caters to an
improved performance which would also be something I shall focus upon throughout
the growth of my career. Working towards the improvement of the emotional well
being of workers is also something I see myself working with.

I have always focused on maintaining the needed decorum in an institution and

working towards achieving my goals. I consistently made the best choice available for
myself that would bring me a step closer to my goals of working in an administrative
oriented job that also focused on the well being of employees while ensuring
productivity and stability of a company. Accepting my application would help me get
the best guidance and teaching that would build my foundations that are required to
excel in this field.
