I. RATIONALE

Globally, Women are facing issues of having fewer opportunities for participation, less
access of basic and higher education and other social development aspects.

In our country there are still women who are still suffering from discrimination and other
forms of violence. Since our government is working on gender equality, the R.A 9710 or known
as Magna Carta for Women was created in order to eliminate discrimination against women by
recognizing, protecting, fulfilling and promoting their rights.

Pursuant to R.A 6949, an act to declare March Eight (8) of every year as working special
holiday to be known as National Women's Day. The proclamation No.227 states, providing for
the observance of the month of March as "Women`s Role in History Month" and proclamation
No.224 states, declaring the first week of March of every year as women's week and March
8,1988 and every year thereafter as Women's Right and International Peace Day. These
emphasize then that our country Acknowledge the importance of our women to be empowered
and become active contributors of development.

In line with this activity we the "Rio Tuba women's Association" will be going to Participate
on the Said Event and the Program are consist of several activities like: Zumba Dance Contest,
Modern Dance Contest, Choral Singing, Volleyball, Basketball and Talented Women.
II. OBJECTIVES:

* To Inform and engage women as stakeholders of government programs and services to

promote citizen-centric governance.

* To Strengthen the implementation of Magna Carta of Women.

* To Empower their rights against any forms of abuse and to be agents of change.

* To Contribute in promoting gender equality.

* To enable us to become more responsible and productive individual in our society.

* To bind Us together and Represents our Barangay to compete with other Barangay in our
municipality.

III. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Women's month Celebration will be held on March 7-8,2024 as scheduled by our
Women's association, Themed as "We for gender equality and Inclusive society" at Municipal
coliseum, Bataraza Palawan.

It is a 2-day activity wherein there will be different events Such as the following: on the first
day, @8:00 o'clock in the morning, there will be a parade around the town, Composed of PNP
personnel as marshals, drum and lyre, Groups of Women`s Association in Every Barangay,
National Government / Private agencies, LGU employees, and Barangay officials. After the
parade is the program amenities as part one( 1) of the first day activity. To mention: opening
prayer, national anthem, welcome remarks, introduction of participants and so on. The Part (2)
is the Zumba competition, In the afternoon the ball games (Volleyball and Basketball) will start
@1 pm. On the Second day the ball game will continued, in the morning the modern dance
competition, choral singing contest and “Talentadong Nanay” will be held in the afternoon. The
Last part of the activity is the awarding and Closing program.

IV. PROPOSED ACTIVITY / UNDERTAKEN.

1. Conducted meeting on the Women month Celebration.

2. Every women association submitted their entries (Every Barangay)

3. Prepared Committees on every activity. (By Category)

4. Coordinates with the other members of women., in our Barangay.

5. Coordinates with the Barangay Chairman, and other committee involved.

VI. EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This 2- day activity which celebrating the women's month is one of the most awaiting events
of women's undertakings in the Municipality of Bataraza. Women are glad that this activity is
conducted after we had Encounter COVID-19 pandemic. For Us It is our time again to show our
Talent and compete with others. For Us it is our way of Releasing Our Stress and A chance to
be Happy and Have Relaxation.

As this activity is mandated by the Law, pursuant to R.A 6949, Proclamation nos.224,227 and
R.A 9710, Magna Carta for Women, Highlighting the empowerment of women, it is therefore we
are Highly recommended that the Project Proposal "Women's Month Celebration 2024"
amounted to FOURTY FIVE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY PESOS (P 45,750.00) will
be granted.
