A RESOLUTION ADOPTING MUNICIPALORDINANCE NO. 2019-12 ENTITLED “AN ORDINANCE
INSTITUTIONALIZING THE MOTHER TO MOTHER SUPPORT GROUP (BARANGAY F1KD) AND NUTRITION
SPECIFIC INTERVENTIONS FOR PREGNANT WOMEN, LACTATING MOTHER AND INFANTS AGED 0-23
MONTHS DURING THE FIRST 1000 DAYS (F1KD) IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CALAPE, PROVINCE OF
BOHOL.

WHEREAS, in the Philippines, one in four pregnant women are nutritionally at risk and the same
proportion is also anemic which not only affects the growth of the fetus inside the womb but also puts
them at risk of deadly complication during child birth;

WHEREAS, over twenty percent (20%) of infants had low birth weights at birth and could continue to
become underweight and stunted in early childhood, and only one in four infants is exclusively breastfed
which deprives them of the essential nutrition needed to support optimal growth until five (5) months of
age;

WHEREAS, over eighty percent (80%) of babies aged 0-23 months are not fed with minimum acceptable
diet needed to further support rapid growth, and about 40% of babies aged 6-11 months are anemic
and close to this proportion are already by the time they reach two (2) years of age;

WHEREAS, stunting affects brain development and is already irreversible beyond this age, ant the
devastating effects on the physical and mental development of both stunting and iron deficiency anemia
prevent individuals from reaching their full potential and lead to lower productivity as adults;

THEREFORE, on the motion of Kagawad Aniceta H. Ytac and duly seconded in mass;

BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to adopt the Municipal Ordinance No. 2019-12 entitled
“AN ORDINANCE INSTITUTIONALIZING THE MOTHER TO MOTHER SUPPORT GROUP (BARANGAY F1KD)
AND NUTRITION SPECIFIC INTERVENTIONS FOR PREGNANT WOMEN, LACTATING MOTHER AND
INFANTS AGED 0-23 MONTHS DURING THE FIRST 1000 DAYS (F1KD) IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CALAPE,
PROVINCE OF BOHOL”.
UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED AND ADOPTED.
