SCRIPT FOR DEBUT

Birthdays are celebrated to remind us of the magical moment of love, the epitome of a
meaning in life, a manifestation of God’s love towards all of us. Good evening and
welcome to the enchanting Island Cove and Leisure Park, here in Kawit Cavite.. Tonight,
we are about to celebrate the life of our charming debutant who is now turning into a fine
lady. This is quite a very important event in her life and she is very much honor for your
presence. She is now ready to step onto the much higher level of what we call LIFE. Ladies
and gentlemen, sit back as we groove, jive and enjoy her party for tonight…

INTRODUCTION OF FAMILY MEMBERS:

Without them, her life would be empty and unhappy. Let us all give a big round of applause to
honour all the people whom she truly loved, her family. This evening, the Taguba family takes
themselves into the spotlight as they formally introduce their beautiful princess, once a baby
now a lady.

GROW UP VIDEO:
One fine Thursday, July 25, 1996, in UST Hospital, god gave his most important gift to then
young couple Patrick and Angelina. She was an answered prayer and the most awaited one; she
was going to be named Patrisha Mae.

She started schooling at Tuguegarao West Central Elementary School and finished her high
school at St. Paul University . At present she is taking up Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering at University of St. Louis in Tuguegarao.

And now…. guests, friends, ladies and gentlemen, let us all stand as we welcome the debutant
as a woman of grandeur, now hot and legal….escorted by her__________________________.
Let‟s give a big round of applause Miss PATRISHA MAE TAGUBA.
In our gathering this evening, we cannot help but be thankful of the gift of person in Patrisha
Mae who has brought us together this evening. This celebration provides us a glimpse of the
beauty and grandiosity of life. And this evening, we shall all have great time ahead of us as we
go through the different parts featured in this debut program of our Debutante. How about a
warm round of applause to our birthday celebrator, our debutante, and her family?
18 Roses
For a lot of girls, the 18 roses is a highlight of the debut program. It represents a girl‟s readiness
in the area of romance, as was the original purpose of the debut.
Roses…they touch the heart of ladies. They tell us how much love they would like to give and
its beauty is its most vivid form.
The 18 roses and the dance of Patrisha Maes life shall now commence with her father leading
her way in the hope that she finds real friends in her journey to life.

DINNER
OPENING PRAYER / GRACE BEFORE MEAL
Sorry for the intrusion in the continuous flow of our celebration but I would like to announce
that we will have our dinner this time. It is also the time for us to take pictures with our lovely
debutant and to socialize with our fellow guests and relatives.
I would like to ask Patrisha’s aunt Tita Mielma Baquiran to lead us in our prayer.
After the dinner, the family would like to request everybody to please remain for a while for the
continuation of our program. Thank you.
18 CANDLES / THROWBACK
Now let us continue our program … As we are about to listen to some stories regarding
Patrisha’s childhood at this point I‟ll be callng relatives and friends who are important to the
debutante—as advisors, teachers, and trusted peers. These people will not only set our mood in
the past but also to give speeches and advices, and state their well-wishes for the debutante.
They then each light a candle that symbolizes light—light that will guide Ro-Anne on her life’s
journey. Once all 18 candles have been lit, they are placed on the debutante‟s birthday cake and
she blown them out after her message.
18 BLUE BILLS
These are thousand peso bills and are traditionally pinned on the girl's dress by representatives of her
family - father, mother, grandparents, aunts and uncles. More than anything else, 18 bills signifies
Patrisha’s readiness to handle her own bank accounts and money. Part of their message will be
dealing on frugality and how our debutant will work hard to earn. At this point may I call on her
loving aunts and uncles…

A sumptuous evening to one and all! It is my delight that you remain and let us rejoice for that.
And to represent Ro-annes Circle of Important People of her Life, let us welcome the following
persons who will be part of her 18 treasures and candles.
Let‟s start with our 18 treasures:
As Ro-Anne celebrates the beginning of womanhood, she will need tools that either help her in
the future, encourage her in the present, or give her something fond to look back on. In her 18
Treasures, I will call on friends and family members who are tasked to give the debutante
special gifts or “tokens”, and explain how they will become inspirations for her. These
“treasures” represent the friendship between the giver and the debutante, because they indicate
how well they know each other.

The wine symbolizes commitment and triumph. Patrisha Mae is considered victorious because
she is able to reach the debutant age and it is a great time for this kind of celebration. To toast
with her the wine for a long lasting victory of her life, let us all call in the following special
persons who are in one way or another became a part of her life through thick and thin, ups and
downs, right and wrong and sometimes good and bad times of life.
