A. MAYON by Kristian Sendon Cordero
1. From what region Mayon Volcano is situated?
 The famous tourist spot, Mayon Volcano, is located at Albay in Region 5 or
Bicol Region.
2. Do you think the author is a local where Mayon Volcano is located?
 In my opinion, the Kristian Sendon Cordero is a local where Mayon Volcano is
located. My basis for this is it says that he is from Camarines Sur, and it is
located in Bicol Region.
3. Why do you think the author wrote this poem?
 Probably because the author appreciates the Mayon Volcano so much or
maybe he is very interested at the landscape and its history. It’s like having a
crush. When you’re very interested at him/her, you wouldn’t just leave it as it
is, you might make things like a poem, a song, or a letter.

B. Illustrate the meaning of the literary piece that your parents/grandparents shared
to you in a short bond paper. (in the short bond paper po)

C. Essay: What are the impacts of the literary pieces of Bienvenido Lumbera to the
development of Philippine literature?

Philippine literature, in Wikipedia, is literature associated with the

Philippines from prehistory through its colonial legacies, and on to the present.
Throughout our history, literature has been present even from the post-colonial period
up until the modern day. Numerous names are known to have contributed in the field of
literature in our country. Bienvenido Lumbera is a name of those.
Bienvenido Lumbera, based on the text, is a poet, librettist, and scholar. He
contributed by discovering secret achievements in the field of culture in our country. On
the other hand, he also has contributed in the field of literature. He constituted Bagay
poetry which helped to changed the vernacular poetic tradition. Aside from those,
through his works such as Rama Hari, Tales of Manuvu, and Noli Me Tangere: The
Musical, he mixed together fine arts and fantasy to create and introduce to Philippine
literature a new form of art that up to this date we still have.
He committed his life to making literary pieces, and he should be awarded
and appreciated. In my opinion, Bienvenido Lumbera is not just a creator of
masterpieces, but he is a masterpiece himself.
