robert Gaskins and Dennis Austin at a
software company named forethought,Inc.It
was released on april,20,1987, initially for
macintosh computers only.
 WHY IS IT CALLED POWERPOINT?
• One of the key figures at Forethought,
RobertGaskins, thought of "PowerPoint" from a
sign he had seen on an airport runway: he
imagined the software empowering the user to
create and share compelling points in a
presentation. The name stuck, and the software
sold out upon its first production run.
WHAT IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF
USINGMICROSOFT POWERPOINT?

•MS PowerPoint is a program that is included in

the Microsoft Office suite. It is used to make
presentations ad for personal and professional
purposes.
