I.SEASONAL CONDITIONS
1.1. South-West Monsoon-2023: Major Agriculture in AP depends on South-West Monsoon. The South West
Monsoon set over in Kerala on 8th June, 2023 against the normal date of 1st June as per IMD report .The
Southwest monsoon has entered in some parts of Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh on 11th June, 2023
and in Coastal AP on 19th June, 2023. Light to Moderate Rain likely occur over One or Two places in Andhra
Pradesh.

III. CROP SOWINGS
Kharif 2023:
The total area sown in the State is 15.47 lakh ha. (45%) as against the normal area of 34.39 lakh ha., and
Normal as on date is 23.58 lakh ha. (66%).

IV. AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS AND CROP CONDITION.

Seed distribution is under progress. Paddy raising of nurseries are under progress. Paddy is at Transplantation
stage. Maize, Bajra & Jowar are at vegetative stage. Ragi is at Transplantation stage. Groundnut is at vegetative to
flowering stage, Sesamum is at vegetative to Pod formation stage. Pulses, Cotton and Sugarcane are at vegetative
stage. Redgram is at sowings to vegetative stage.
