Objectives :

By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to:


-Understand the meaning and form of phrasal verbs
-To practise telling an anecdote using phrasal verbs.

-Students read an anecdote and try to do a S-S
matching activity in 8 mins: Match the
phrasal verbs to their definitions.
-The teacher monitors the activity.
- After doing the activity the students
compare their answers with the peer close
to them.
Activity 2: Matching
-The students do another matching
activity with the help of a given handout.
-Then, students do “pass the marker”
activity in which a student answer and
pass the marker to another student to
answer.
Activity 3: Gap fill
-Students do a gap fill activity in which
they are going to choose the correct
phrasal verb.
-The teacher monitors the activity
-The students share the answer with the
whole classroom.
Production Kagan’s: “Find The 1-In pairs: Students write 3 statements 7 mins S-S
fiction”
using the phrasal verbs, 2 of them are true S-T
and 1 is false. The students try to guess
which one is “the fiction”.

Closing Homework -The teacher asks if there is a question. 1 Min T-S

worksheets on the grammar section
