1.4 Installation Process

1. Put away materials that are not used during the installation for future use.
2. Put away components that are removed during the installation and protect them against
contamination.
3. Clean the required parts or components before the installation.

2 Installing the Closure

2.1 Wall-mounting
Step 1 Mark installation positions by using the closure and a marker.

Step 2 Drill holes and install plastic plugs in the specified area on the wall.

Step 3 Fasten the closure to the wall by tightening the screws.

2.2 Pole-mounting
Step 1 Install the metal cable storing bracket to the closure.

When installing the cable storing bracket, ensure that the opening faces outwards.

Step 2 Install the hose clamps on the mounting hole of the metal cable storing bracket.

Step 3 Secure the hose clamps on the pole, and tighten the screws.

Step 4 Insert the FastConnect cable into the closure and coil the redundant cable in the metal cable
storing bracket, use 2 long cable ties to secure the cable to the cable storing bracket.

 When an optical cable is coiled upwards, the minimum bending diameter D1 must be 20 times
greater than the outer diameter of the cable.
 Maximum lengths supported by the cable storing bracket: Φ5 mm, 50 m.
 For details about how to insert a FastConnect cable into the closure, see 3 Installing the FastConnect
Cable.

2.3 Aerial-mounting
Step 1 Install the brackets to the closure.

It is advised to keep two brackets at the same height.

Step 2 Remove the screws.

Step 3 Hang the closure onto the cable, and then fasten the screws.

3 Installing the FastConnect Cable

The FastConnect cables installed at the input end and output end of the closure are the same, and the
installation steps are the same.

Step 1 Remove the dust cap from the adapter by rotating the dust cap of the adapter from the 1
position to the 0 position.

Step 2 Remove the dust caps from the FastConnect cable connector and the ferrule.

Step 3 Align the gap with the arrow by rotating the part marked with an arrow counterclockwise.

Step 4 Connect the FastConnect cable to the closure, and rotate the connector from the 0 position to
the 1 position.

Step 5 Connect the dust caps of the FastConnect cable connector and adapter.
