LESSON PHASES:

INTRODUCTION

[The purpose of the introduction is to create interest, motivate the topic and to
prepare learners for the topic to follow and to establish the link to previous
knowledge/existing knowledge. The introduction should have some WOW factor.
Possible options can include a story, newspaper article, poem, demonstration,
discussion of homework tasks, incidents from TC, Radio, Internet etc.
Also explain/highlight learning aims for the lesson/s]
How will you introduce the topic? What method will be used? What resource will you
use to introduce the topic? What questions will you ask the learners to involve them?

 The teacher will start by discussing different types of farm animals, which are,
cow; goat; pig; monkey etc.
 Th teacher will ask learners to share their experiences with their favourite
farm animals or farm animals that they are familiar with
 The teacher will proceed to explain the focus of the lesson: painting and
drawing our favourite farm animals.

DEVELOPMENT

Step 1

 The teacher will demonstrate basic shapes that make up animals (circles for
heads, triangles for ears, etc.)
 Teacher will then show learners how to use light pencil strokes to create the
basic shapes of an animal and introduce the use of colours in expressing the
features and personality of the animal.

Step 2

 The tearcher will Teach & practice the vocab together with learners.

start saying the animal vocab and animal sounds. E.g., "This is a pig –oink, oink!"
or ‘the cow – moo moo moo”. As the teacher and students play with the animals
tell them the animal names and sounds in English.

After playing for a while collect all of the toys and put them away, keeping the
cow, dog, sheep, duck, and pig out. You’ll also need the same farm animal
flashcards. Put the flashcards on the floor. Hold up one of the plastic animals and
chorus the vocab, as follows:

 Teach & practice the vocabTeacher: "cow, cow, cow”.

 Students: "cow, cow, cow"
 Teacher: "And a cow says Moo. Moo, moo, moo”
 Students: "Moo, moo, moo"

Step 3

 The teacher will distribute drawing papers with cow face, pencil and cryons for
the learners to shade the face in diferent coulors.
 After learner have done it, the teacher will instruct students to lightly sketch
the basic shapes of their chosen pets.

 Once satisfied with the sketch, the teacher will tell them to outline their
drawings with crayons or coloured pencils.

CONSOLIDATION/LESSON CONCLUSION

[The purpose of this phase of the lesson is to reinforce the application of the KSVs
underpinning the lesson: how are these KSVs going to help the learners in the way
they think for example or make decisions or approach life situations. Activities here
could include for example, a worksheet, questioning, discussion of what was learnt
and the application thereof. Discussion of homework activities can also be included.
Remember a lesson conclusion is not merely a summary of the lesson.
How will you conclude the topic? What resource will you use to encourage review of
the topic? What method will you use to review the topic?

What questions will you ask?]

What did you find challenging in this lesson? What did you enjoy?

The teacher will ask any learner to share their artwork with the class, explaining
