DEFINITION-
* Operation procedure where the fetus after the end of 28th week is delivered
through an incision on the abdominal and uterine wall.
* In this operation the extraction of baby is done through an incision made in the
lower segment 2-2.5 inches above the symphiasis pubis.
INDICATION-
Where vaginal delivery is not possible due to:
Placenta praevia.
Pelvic mass causing obstruction
Large fetus
Small pelvis .(passage)
Malpresentation e,g breech, transverse presentation.

This instrument has a traingular tips used for grasping the edges of the
uterine incision.
✓ Ratchet lock makes the grip firmer.
Used as a haemostatic for controlling multiple bleeding points during
the caesarean section from the cut edges of uterine incision without
damaging the uterine wall.
It is also used instead of sponge holding forceps to trace the cervix
for cervical tear.
