Definition of Information Agency
An agency that specialized in the information work like creating,
identifying, collecting, acquiring, packaging, storing, processing,
preserve and etc.

WORLD OF LIBRARY
 History of Library
• Libraries, as repositories for written a records, began in this
Middle East between 3000 and 2000 B.C.

• The first library for public were established in Rome in the 1st
Century BC .The development of the library was effected by
the growing demands for books , copying business and
bookshops.
 History of Library

• In China , the first library was established under the

Chin Dynasty (221 – 206 BC).

• The greatest library in the ancient world was

established by the Greeks in Alexandria in the 3rd
Century BC.
 LIBRARY

1. Derives from the Latin word ‘liber’ or ‘libri’, means "book" or “writing”.

2. According to Harrod’s Librarian Glossary: library is a collection of books

and other literacy materials kept for reading, research, references, study
and consultation.

3. There are four elements that should cover a library's definition:

collection, user, infrastructure and librarian
