Lesson 14: 2D Drawing of 3D part

Start with the Flange.SLDPRT part you made in Lesson 05 and make it’s corresponding 2D drawing
as shown below in SolidWorks.

 Introduce 2 Dimensional Detail/Component Drawing from 3D part models.

 See MS word doc “Lesson 14 2D DRW from 3D Part.doc” for greater detail instructions.
 Start with Front View, Top View and the Isometric View.
 Make the Section View J-J
 Add the Centre Lines and Dimensions (look at tolerances, fits and Geometric tolerances
later)
 Save the drawing as Flange.SLDDRW in the same folder as Flange.SLDPRT
 Sheet Format is SolidWorks’ name for Title Block.
 Customize the Title Block as below using Links to File Properties (See “Lesson 14 Altering
Title Block.doc”).
