Kamand Premier League (KPL) - Season 5 Cricket

Rule book & Important Details Phase 1 : (2nd March to 8th March)
(2nd March to April 27th 2024) Phase 2 : (7th April to 27th April)

Section 1) General:

1. KPL (Cricket) Season 5 team making will be based on special auctions.

2. The tournament will start with 6 teams, Captains shall be a part of the previous year Inter-IIT
squad are decided in prior (refer section 5).Four teams are of students and 2 teams are of staff
and faculty.
3. Further selection of the respective teams will be made using the auction windows (refer section
2) where the captains and vice-captains will bid for players.
4. Each team can have a squad of 16 players.
5. At the mid season auction a team can release at maximum of 2 players and buy upto 2 new
players basically 14 after 1st half and 16 after first half of the tournament.
6. A total of 15 matches (Round-robin Tournament) will be played in league round.
7. There will be a total of 18 matches in the tournament. That means we'll have 1 league rounds,
Semifinals and the tournament final.
8. All matches will be ideally played on weekends and official holidays only, unless
otherwise specified by the coordinator.

Section 2) Auctions:

2.1) Wallet and Auction window:

1. Each team will have a wallet of total worth 50 Crores (virtual currency) which they have to use
during the auction.
2. Auction for students teams and staff-faculty teams will be done separately.
3. Auction window will be live on 27th February (TUESDAY) (2:00-5:00)PM(refer section 3).

2.2) Base price and buying a player:

1. The base price of players will be set by the players themselves during filling their respective
registration forms for the subsequent auction window (refer section 3).
2. The minimum base price for each player will be 20 Lakhs.
3. The maximum base price for any previous Rann-neeti/Inter-IIT players will be 2 Crores
(one from 2 Crores, 1.5 Crores, 1 Crore, 75 Lakhs, 50 Lakhs, 40 Lakhs, 30 Lakhs, 20
Lakhs).
4. The maximum base price for others will be 1 crore (one from 1 Crore, 75 Lakhs, 50 Lakhs,
40 Lakhs, 30 Lakhs, 20 Lakhs).
 5. Minimum bid price increment rules are as follows: 10 lakhs increment upto 1 crores, 20
lakhs increment upto 5 crores, 50 lakhs increment after 5 crores.
6. A team can bid for a player as much as they want to spend on him depending on their remaining
wallet money.
7. If a player gets unsold once his name is called then only if any of the captains want a re-auction
for him in the same auction window then his name can be called again (but only once in a
auction window). In this case, his base price will get reduced to 50% of his actual base price until
a minimum of 20 Lakhs.
8. An unsold/released player may rejoin the next auction window if he wants. In that case he needs
to contact the Cricket coordinator and skip refilling of the registration form for the next auction
window.
9. An re-auction for a player in the same auction window may occur as per the demand of a team
Captain but all re-auctions will happen only at the end of the normal auctions in that auction
window.

2.3) Releasing a player:

1. Each team can release their players as per the final decision of their respective Captain and
Vice-Captain.
2. If a player is released before 24 hours of auction then the team will get 75% worth of his bidding
price.
3. If a player is released on the day of auction before the start of the auction then the team will get
only 50% worth of his bidding price.
4. Players released on the day of auction can be called for a re-auction in the same auction window
if any of the captains (including the one who released him) wants to bid for that player. Else
they’ll have to apply during the next auction window, if available.
5. No player can be released during the auction window.

Section 3) Tentative Schedule:

Section 4) Important Terms and Conditions:

 1. Only players (staff, students, faculty and others) available on campus during the match
days can give their names in the auction window.
2. All ICC rules will be followed, unless specified otherwise. **
3. The matches will be played by White Leather Balls and each League Match inning will be of 15
overs. Knockout matches will be of 20 overs.
4. Team lineup has to be submitted before the start of the match (at the toss).
5. All the auction transactions during the event are using virtual money.
6. For each inning, the batting team will be responsible for scoring roles which will be done on the
physical scoresheet & CRICHEROES mobile app. The 12th man from the bowling team will
accompany the scorer and check the process. The scores will be verified after every over with
the on-field umpire.
7. Each player must register himself on CRICHEROES mobile app and enter his registered
mobile number in the registration form.
8. The third team players will be responsible for umpiring roles and Captains/Vice- Captains shall
decide the duties. Only in case of emergencies the batting/bowling team may be asked to send
in umpires from their team.
9. The on-field umpire will be responsible for scoring duties on cricheroes app.
10. After every inning, the bowling captain will be responsible for the ball.
11. Any unusual behavior will not be tolerated and may lead to the release of the player from his
team or being completely debarred from the tournament.
12. In case of a team not being able to stand 11 players on the match day, either a walk over will be
given or the team may play with lesser players. But no new player other than the team shall be
allowed to enter on field.
13. In case of a league match not being able to complete, D/L method upto where the match finally
stops (preferred) or match abandoning shall be used as appropriate.
14. In case of eliminator or final match not being able to complete, first priority shall be to
reschedule so as to avoid rain, else D/L method shall be used on where the match finally stops.
In the worst case, the league toppers and runner-ups shall be declared as tournament winners
and runner-ups.
15. Impact Player Rule is there throughout the tournament.
16. League Matches Will not be postoned in cause of rains until unless discussed by Kaul
Sir. Points will be shared to both teams if match is not possible due to rain.
17. The decision of the KPL cricket coordinator (Aditya Chaudhary, 6306599581) shall be final
and binding over all. He may consult the Cricket Coach, Kaul Singh or other captains as
needed.

Section 6) Points and Net Run Rate Calculations:

1. Points System:
a. Winning a match: 2 points
b. No result: 1 point
c. Losing a match: 0 point
2. Points percentage = (Total points scored * 50)/(Total no of matches played)
3. Net Run Rate is calculated by deducting from the average runs per over scored by that team
throughout the competition, the average runs per over scored against that team throughout the
competition.
