A New Chapter

Moving from Georgia to the United States, particularly New York City, has been a

transformative experience. While relocating to a new country is always a daunting experience, it

is also exciting, especially when it involves moving to a vibrant and diverse city. I am excited

about the new chapter in my life as I hope to begin my college journey.

My experiences have ignited an appreciation for diversity and the value of cultural

immersion. Back in Georgia, my interaction was limited to people I shared similar attributes. I

have been exposed to many cultures and ways of life significantly different from what I have

encountered before. The subway is particularly a melting pot of diverse cultures and

personalities.

The New York City art scene is one of the draws that has made the move rewarding. As

an art enthusiast, visiting various galleries and exhibitions where I have met new friends has

been exciting. I am constantly amazed by artists' creativity in their unique pieces. While the art

scene has been captivating, I have also experienced loneliness and isolation. Starting over in a

new city far from family and friends has sometimes left me lonely. However, I am ready to take

on the challenge of a new beginning and understand that joining college will allow me to form

new relationships.

My experience has sparked my desire to learn more about diversity and seek

opportunities for cultural immersion. These experiences will serve me well in college and

beyond. I hope to contribute to the diverse community of college students and continue learning

personally and professionally. Deciding to move to a new country can be challenging, but I am

glad I have a chance to benefit from the best education system.
