1. What is your definition of art? Art appreciation?

For me art is an act of expressing feelings, thoughts, and observations.


Art appreciation centers on the ability to view art throughout history, focusing on the
cultures and the people, and how art developed in the specific periods.

2. How can art be an aid to better citizenship? Give examples to illustrate this.
Art can stimulate ideology, awareness, and knowledge.
Visual art can help inform people of events and changes in the surrounding. It can also
help support the message being conveyed. Example of this are those illustrations and
comic strip that shows the dangers of climate change or an opinion in politics.

3. Why are music, paintings and sculpture called fine arts?


Today, any music, painting, sculpture, or anything that you wish to call “art” is
then art, just because you called it art. The term “fine arts” is now used to merely
indicate that something is very expensive, fashionable, and/or historic.
4. In what ways does art contribute to the physical, social and spiritual well-
being of man?
The arts create bonds that sustain us.
The arts are an important factor in strong communities, helping build what researchers
call “social capital”, or the collective networks that bond us. The art help build societies
where people value honestly, openness, cooperation, tolerance and respect.

5. What are the functions of art in the context of enhancing your personality?
Creating art develop self-esteem. Gives you a way to communicate your most
inner thoughts and feelings. Sone of your work will resonate with people and hit to the
heart of their emotions.
