During the liberation period, the pioneering settlers again went back to their war-torn houses and started
to pick up the shattered pieces of hopes and
dreams which the war has left them. They formed new set of officers and the first teniente del barrio were Rafael de los Reyes who was succeeded by Jesus Deseo, Vicente Fin and Graciano Acierda. It was during the term of Barangay Captain Jesus Deseo the year 1960 that Barangay Magsaysay was born. To be accurate it was August 10,1960 when the Barangay Council passed the Resolution No. 31 which aimed to change the Barrio Creek to Barangay Ramon Magsaysay, in honor of the late President Ramon Magsaysay who had extended so much help and support to the settlers. Barangay Creek was officially or legally changed into Barangay Magsaysay on January 10, 1962 when Polomolok Mayor Datu Badong Nilong and his council formed the barangay resolution to the Provincial Board. Since then, many of the settlers and their descendants have served the barangay. Our barangay which was once known as Barrio Creek has stood the test of time. The place that was once seemed bare and infertile became the booming barangay in the Municipality of Polomolok.
