Analysis: DIFFERENT SPORTS ACTIVITIES
Sports- the word “sport” comes from the old French
desport meaning “leisure”. The oldest definition in English
from around 1300 being anything humans find amusing or
entertaining. Sport (British English) or sports (American
English) includes all form of competitive physical activity
or games which through casual or organized participation,
aim to use, maintain or improve physical activity and
skills.
Structured Physical Activity- structured means organized.
Sports that set rules and arrange events.
Competitive- all sport have a competitive element, either
between individual and team.
Categories of Sports
Individual Sport- activities in which competing as a part of
a team isn’t required.
Dual Sport- a single athlete competes against another
single athlete; there’s no team, just two athletes against
each other in a one-on-one match.
Team Sport- involves a larger group of people working
together and competing against another large group.
