Q : Assalamualaikum w.b.t, my name is Qistina binti Rabean, I’m currently on


second semester taking PhD in Business Administration at IIUM. The
purpose of this WhatsApp conversation is to interview Sir/Madam as my
respondent for my Qualitative subject requirement project. This interview
conversation will be screenshot and record as appendix. The topic is on the
entrepreneur intention of Islamic courses student. Thank you.

Q : Can you please introduce yourself and your education background?

A : My name is Nur Atirah, my age is 27 years old. I graduated from IIUM


with Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Heritage in Usul al-Din
& Comparative Religion

Q : What does you understand in creating a new company or becoming an


entrepreneur?

A : For this question, I am thinking that to set up a business even or to become


an entrepreneur is not easy because this journey needs you to be strong
enough to face many challenges and sacrifice. Not everyone is born to be
businesspeople but if we have the interest in doing business, we should
give a try and make it success.

Q : Are you agree that technological advancement nowadays can motivating


youth to be an entrepreneur? Why have you said so?

A : Yes, I agreed, because I could say that today is all about technology.
People being exposed to social media like Instagram, Facebook, twitter and
others. Plus, millennials are generation that open and technology savvy.
They blend well with those medium. In fact, we could see many
instafamous has been succeed in doing their business and they shared their
success story via the social media. Thus, this is how us especially young
generation could easily influence to be like them and being exposed to any
business opportunity or gave them ideas about what an entrepreneur is.

Q : Is there anyone who in your circle pursue career as an entrepreneur or is


there anyone influence & support you if you be an entrepreneur?

A : Firstly, my uncle. He is a businessman who I considered him as one of the


example or idols that influence me to do business. He proves that even
though many challenges while doing business, but he always works hard to
ensure his business sustain. I love to see how he build his character as a
Muslim entrepreneur. He shows good example by balancing dunia and
akhirah. Always encourage us to be brave to take any risk or challenges to
improve our life. Secondly, there are few of my colleagues also doing
online business. They shared their profit gain, business strategies and
difficulties from doing business and some of them did encourage me to
join them do be their team. Thirdly, there are few of social media
influencer that have influence me to become an entrepreneur. Looking at
their life, business did influence me to become successful like them.

Q : If you were to create your own business, would you be able to complete
your business idea and strategy of your company and write your business
plan such as do a market research, also financial analysis. Thus, do you
know how to negotiate and maintain supportive relationships with potential
investors and banks. Finally, do you know how to relate key people to
obtain the capital needed for your business and recognize market
opportunities for the development of new products and/or services?

A : Honestly, as of today, I have not thinking deeply on this part. But I have
imagined myself to set up a food business which sell homemade baby food
purees. I plan to start it small by using my own saving. So far, I don’t want
to make any loan. I choose to sell this product as I have the interest on
baby, food, baby purees and in fact I have made the purees few times and
received many compliments from my friends.

Q : Do you think that in the future you will create your own company? Why
you think so? With what probability do you consider creating your own
business from present to five years in time?

A : Insyaallah, to have my own business is always my dream. I hope by next 2


or 3 years I able to set up my business. Currently, I am at the stage of
making more saving and perhaps by 2 years my saving is sufficient enough
and I could convince my family that I could do my business as well as I am
ready to take this new journey as young Muslimah entrepreneur.

Q : If you had the opportunity to choose freely the career, what would you
prefer to be an entrepreneur? Or you prefer to work for someone else /
other company?

A : If I have could simply choose my career, I will choose to run my own


business. This is because, doing business is my interest and my aim. I
admire people who could calmly face the situation where their need to
overcome and solve each of the business challenges. At the end, you will
feel satisfied with those scarifications. In fact, Islam also encourages us to
do business as it gives more profit thus, we could give more to our society.

Q : Let say, considering your actual situation and the limitations toward your
options (e.g., lack of money) indicate which career is more probable to be
chosen or do you still choose to be entrepreneur?

A : Currently, I am working in private organization which have many limited


for me to do business. I would say that to become an entre is always my
first choice. That is why further my study in business admin is one of the
strategies that always make me feel near to my target to be a successful
Muslim entre.

Q : Noted, I guess that the last question for the interview. However, I like to
