Lesson Introduction
Outline:
Students will watch the video my 600lbs life and identify consequences
of not having a balanced diet.

Engagement (Synchronous)
 Student will be shown a food pyramid and asked about
what their present diet is like and what aspects of the food
pyramid represents the major part of their diet
Exploration (Asynchronous)
 Students will be asked to plan a balanced meal for lunch
and dinner

nutrients. They will be ask to find out the basis for the
colour changes.

having an unbalanced diet and describe the symptoms
associated with dietary conditions identified
Elaboration (Asynchronous)

unknown substances then identify the nutrients present.
 They will provide reasons for each deduction.
 Students will calculate their BMI and state implication of
the value
