CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study

It is said that electronics gadgets modifies the world. It is now the most acquired by many. This will
show the true power if electronically gadgets. We group of researchers want to prove that it can also help
in the field of studies, we came up with this topic because we see that students are dependent to their
gadgets, we want to show the effectiveness and efficiency of its work and when it comes to students, and
to clarify the real implications to collage folks. “Electronic gadgets are the instruments which can perform
many activities at a time with vast speed and makes the hard work efficient one.” Some of them are the
following figure, there are many “Electronic Gadgets” which we are using a day days life such as computer,
T.V, mobile, Ipod pen drive, etc. available easily. This instruments help us b making easy paper work,
entertaining for communication etc., but not to limit days, this Electronics Gadgets operate man machines,
ships, aero planes, and industrial activities. Also they are used to identify condition for the performance of
many works.
One to one computing a scenario in which each student has an internet connected computing device
has deployed extensively in a past decade. With a belief that increased access to computer resources
would result in an increase of student learning and improvement of teaching practices.
For centuries, men have unceasingly searched for new discoveries and with those ne discoveries come
forth new technology. Today: the search is long form over despite the fact are portable music player. The
evolution of which seen from the models of Apples ipod.2
In today’s modern age gadgets has become a way of life. Gadgets nowadays are basic need for everyday
life style. It helps a lot by doing easier and faster. Gadgets help student a lot by doing their project more
productive and progressive. It is small thing anyone could have. Having gadgets may help one’s be more
productive and intellectual. Nowadays, poor and rich have gadgets like cellphone. A cellphone is a wireless
gadgets the most people these days communicate with. Gadgets nowadays are a basic need for a student.
Gadgets gave a big impact into the history of humanity because of its use. The history of gadgets spans as
far back as humanity itself since-hominids began creating tools to make their lives easier. Humans have
always create devices and appliances with specific practical purposes that were initially thought of as
novelties, due to unfamiliarity with and initial unwillingness to accept the technology.
Today, the industry has augmented the creation of new gadgets.
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Technology has a revolutionized the field of education. The importance of technology in schools cannot
be ignored. In fact, with the onset gadgets in education, it has become easier for teachers, to import
knowledge and for students for acquire it. The use of teaching and learning enjoyable.
Hooft (2006) found gadgets as important resources which make teaching more relevant and meaningful
thereby improving students literary and numerency skins. In another study, Attewel (2007) believe that
gadgets are a form of the community and formal learning thereby providing a multimodal literary approach
to learning.

Conceptual Framework

This study talks about the effects using gadget among students, especially in their study. And it’s really
talks about to identify the reasons why they use such gadgets when class hours?

I know that gadgets are so helpful to us we should use it positively then the incoming years well know
it’s value and importance.

“The effects of gadgets among students of SNNHS”. This study and ait talks about gadgets and the effect
on every students. It talks about how important the gadgets but there are reason why some students are
not focusing their study and they spend too much time using gadgets.

Hypothesis
1. There is no significant relationship between the frequency of use of gadgets and the impact of
gadgets.

Significance of the Study

The result of this study is significant to school heads, parents, student and other researchers:
School heads. This is beneficial for them to impose disciplinary action for students who were addicted to
electronic gadgets especially the students who grades and school attendance are greatly affected.
According to Walcott (2013), each school is expected to promote a positive school culture and climate that
provides students with a supportive environment in which to grow both socially and academically. Schools
are expected to take a proactive role in nurturing students’ pro-social behavior by providing them with a
range of positive behavioral supports as well as meaningful opportunities for social emotional learning.
Teachers. This study is important because it would help teachers examine whether the use of electronic
gadgets has negative implication on students’ note-taking behaviors and subsequent performance on exam
and study habits. This, they would impose discipline in the classroom in the use of gadgets.
Parents. The result would be beneficial for them to be reminded of their important roles as parents.
They would make constant follow-up on their children’s study time. They would spend much time in
remaining their children on the bad effects always starting into mobile phones or smartphones. That it
tends to change their sleeping and study habits.

Students. This study is important to remain aware of their responsibilities while using their favorite
gadget because many academics and researchers believe that excessive use of the internet and other
sophisticated gadgets have the potential to become an addiction.

Definition of Terms
The following terms are operationally and conceptually defined to provide a clearer understanding of
this study.
Cell phones or mobile phone. This is a device that can make and receive telephone call over a radio link
while moving around a wide geographical area. Besides telephony it can also provide a variety of other
services like text messaging, playing music, e-mail, internet access, infrared, Bluetooth, business
applications, gaming and photography etc.
Gadgets. This is small technological object (such as device or an appliance) that has a particular function
but is often thought of as a novelty.
Ipod. This is a combination portable digital media player and hard drive from apple computer. The
original version was about the size of a deck of playing cards, with a monochrome screen and a 5 gigabyte
capacity.
Laptop. A portable personal computer with a clamshell form factor, suitable for mobile use.
Listening. This refers to talking notice of and act on what someone says.
MP3|4. This is a digital multimedia format most commonly used to store video and audio, but can also
be used to store data such as subtitles and still images. Like most modern container formats, it allows
streaming over the internet.
Notetaking. This refers to the practice of writing down a pieces of information in a systematic way.
Preparing for a test. This is the activity or process of making something ready for the test.

Research Methodology
Research Design:
The researchers utilize the quantitative descriptive method in form of survey in the study. It was
conducted at Surigao Norte National High School with the 44 students as respondents. A researcher made
and self checklist questionnaire was used in collecting data to determine what are the “Effects of Gadgets
to a students in computer and technology’’.
Research Respondents:
The grade 9 44 students of Techvoc Surigao Del Norte National High School were the respondents to this
studies. They are the best respondents that participate during our studies. With their cooperation our
studies was so successful.
Research Locale:
This study will be conducted at Techvoc Surigao Del Norte National High School. And this study
focuses about the Effect of gadgets to a students.
Research Instrument:
The researcher made use of survey. Questionnaire as an instrument in distributing and gathering data.
It aims to gather information to a specified respondents to collect their self-perfection about the “”Effect
of Gadgets to a student”. Through this, it is easy to collect, calculate and tabulate the data immediately.
Data Gathering Procedure:
The researchers wrote a letter to the teacher concerned about our study. And after that we made a
questionnaire to the respondents concerning our studies. We the researchers will administer the
questionnaires to the respondents after giving them some background information of what are our
intentions and what is study all about. We found out that the students were so active and interested in
their parts.
Data analysis:
The data wee analysed and interpreted wing the following statistical tools:
Mean- to determine the: “Effects of Gadgets to a students in computer and technology”.
T-test – to determine the significant difference of the “Effect of Gadgets to a students between males and
females.

CHAPTER 3
DISCUSSION

The interview was held on February 24, 2020 at Surigao Norte National High
School. There were 45 grade 9 Squash as respondents. There were 20 female
and 25 male.
The researchers introduced their selves to the respondents and explained to
them and interview. The researchers asked the respondents about their profile
then conducted the interview.

SUMMARY

This study we method if quantitative research design and semi structed


interview collecting data. The researcher asked some questions regarding the
Effect of gadgets to a student in computer and technology that helped the
researchers to find answers. Asked permission from the adviser of grade 9
Squash students in SNNHS.

ABSTRACT

Technology plays vetal role in our daily lives. These include electronic games, home
computers, handheld devices, and different type of gadgets. Gadgets are popular in
children and as likely in elders. In this norm we can’t keep our children out of this. This
paper presents the impact of gadgets on children in positive and negative manner.
Research has been conducted in how gadgets impact on cognitive and motor skills of
children. It also describes the way for parents how they van monitor their children by
limiting their time of gadget uses. As the gadgets are increasing day by day, it is leading to
the technology addiction among children. The paper concludes with recommendations for
further study better understanding of more problems in children by growing impact of
computers.
