On April 15 2013, a domestic terrorist attack
took place during the 117th annual Boston
Marathon.
Moments after the first explosion
Brothers; Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev
planted two homemade pressure cooker
bombs that detonated near the finish line of
the race 14 seconds and 210 yards (190 m)
apart.

At first, FBI thought an international activists was
responsible for the strike. However, based on
evidences gathered shows that the attack could
be domestic.
A person shared still images with the FBI during
the marathon and caught a person left their
backpack just seconds before the second
explosion happened.

 THE AFTERMATH
On May 15, 2015, Dzhohkar Tsarnaev, the surviving bomber,
was convicted by a federal jury in Boston on 30 charges
related to the bombing and the killing of officer Collier,
and was sentenced to death by lethal injection on six of
the counts. He then admit to all of the charges.

PETERSON
THE DISAPPERANCE
In 24 December 2002, the disappearance of
Laci Peterson, a pregnant woman from SCOTT
Modesto, California, captured national
attention.

Laci was reported missing on Christmas Eve,

with her husband, Scott, quickly becoming
the prime suspect.

added to mounting evidence against Scott.
DIGITAL EVIDENCE
Investigators discovered that Scott had conducted
internet searches for fishing locations and currents in
the San Francisco Bay, where Laci's body was
eventually found. This suggested that he had prior
knowledge of the area where he disposed of her
remains.

 CONCLUSION
Overall, while there was no direct evidence
proving Scott Peterson's guilt, the
cumulative weight of the circumstantial
and forensic evidence presented by the
prosecution led the jury to conclude that he
was responsible the death penalty for the
murder of Laci Peterson and their unborn
son, Conner.

was rocked by the abduction and murder of
five-year-old April Jones.

The case quickly gained national attention,

and the desperate search for April captured
the hearts of millions. Once again, digital
forensics would prove to be instrumental in

CATCHING THE
CATFISH
SARAH'S ENCOUNTER WITH "CHRIS"
Sarah fell for an online persona known as "Chris,"
engaging in messages, photo exchanges, and
phone conversations.

However as their relationship progressed, Sarah

started to feel that something wasn’t quite right.
She decided to hire a private investigator, who
soon discovered that “Chris” was not who he
claimed to be.

He was, in fact, a catfish who created fake online

profiles to deceive others.
