Paraphernalia
One of the primary task of a caregiver is to make sure that he/she uses the
right tool, equipment, or paraphernalia that is applicable to a specific job. As a future
caregiver, you should be adept and proficient with these tools, equipment, and
paraphernalia that you will be using in the healthcare setting. Moreover, using the
right tools minimize mistakes and help you move through each tasks more
efficiently.

1. Microwave oven-It is an oven that uses
microwave to cook or heat food.
2. Chopping board- It is a flat, wooden, or plastic
board where meats or vegetables can be cut.
3. Vacuum cleaner-It is an electrical appliance
which is used for cleaning floors, carpets, and
furniture by suction.
4. Stove- an appliance in which electricity/gas is
utilized to supply heat to be used for cooking or
reheating.
5. Ladle- a long-handled spoon with a deep bowl
at the end for serving food especially broth or
soup.
6. Electric Knife- a kitchen device which is used
for slicing food. It requires less physical effort
than an ordinary knife and makes neater slices.
