1.2 Indicators
Panel indicators of the ZXSDR R8872A are located in the upper part of the chassis side,
see Figure 1-4. They indicate the operational status of the RRU.

l Steady off: Self-test fails.

ALM Alarm Red l Steady off: The ZXSDR R8872A is operating, being
indicator restarted or powered or, or downloading versions prop-
erly without any error.
l Flashing (5 Hz): A critical alarm or major alarm occurs.
l Flashing (1 Hz): A minor alarm or warning occurs.

OPT1 Optical port Green l Steady on: The optical fiber link is operating properly.
1 status l Steady off: The optical fiber link is disconnected.
indicator l Flashing (5 Hz): This link is a clock reference signal
source, and the phase-locked loop is in capture status.
l Flashing (0.25 Hz): This link is a clock reference signal
source, and the phase-locked loop is in tracing status.

2.1 Grounding Cable


Purpose
The grounding cable provides the protective earth for the ZXSDR R8872A.

External View
The grounding cable is a 16 mm2 yellow/green cable. Figure 2-1 shows a grounding cable.

Connection
One end of the grounding cable is connected to the grounding point on the chassis, and
the other end is connected to the grounding busbar.

2.2 DC Power Cable


Purpose
The DC power cable leads external DC power supplies into the ZXSDR R8872A.

Figure 2-2 shows a DC power cable at one end of the ZXSDR R8872A.

Connection
One end of the DC power cable is connected to the DC power supply interface inside the
maintenance cavity of the ZXSDR R8872A, and the other end is connected to an external
power supply device.

2.3 Optical Fiber


Purpose
The optical fiber connects the ZXSDR R8872A to the BBU or cascade RRUs.

Figure 2-3 shows an optical fiber.

Connection
When the optical fiber connects the RRU to the BBU, one end of the optical fiber is
connected to the optical port OPT1 inside the maintenance cavity on the equipment, and
the other end is connected to the optical port on the BBU.
When the optical fiber cascades RRUs, one end of the optical fiber is connected to the
optical port OPT2 inside the maintenance cavity of the upper-level RRU, and the other
end is connected to the optical port OPT1 inside the maintenance cavity of the RRU on
this level.

Chapter 2 External Cables

2.4 Antenna Feeder Jumper


Purpose
The antenna feeder jumper connects the main feeder to the antenna feeder interface on
the ZXSDR R8872A chassis, to transmit and receive signals with the antenna.

External View
The antenna feeder jumper is a 50 Ω RF cable with the diameter of 1/2” and a DIN-type
connector. Figure 2-4 shows an antenna feeder jumper.

Connection
One end of the antenna feeder jumper is connected to an antenna interface (ANT1 to
ANT4) on the ZXSDR R8872A, and the other end is connected to the interface that the
main feeder corresponds to.

2.5 AISG/MON Interface Cable


Purpose
The AISG/MON interface cable is used to operate and maintain the RRU, control external
antennas, and monitor external devices. Dedicated cables are used for different purposes.

External View
Figure 2-5shows an AISG/MON interface cable at one end of the ZXSDR R8872A.

Connection
One end of the AISG/MON interface cable is connected to the AISG/MON interface on the
ZXSDR R8872A, and the other end is connected to an external device (AISG interface,
monitoring dry-contact input device, monitoring RS485 device) or a debugging computer.
