Now let’s start the first part of your examination. I'm going to ask you a few
questions. If you don’t understand me, I can repeat the question once. Are you

TASK 1: CONVERSATION

What subject(s) do you like / hate?


- My favourite subjects are Hungarian grammar and literature. I like them
because they are interesting and I like the teacher. I get on well with her.
- I don’t really like history because it is boring and we have to remember
too many names and dates. I don’t need this subject for my future career.
What subject(s) are you good / bad at?
- I am really good at grammar and literature because I like them.
- My weakest points are History and Maths. History is boring, maths is
difficult for me.
Which is the most difficult day for you at school?

- Nowadays school is different, because we have online lessons, we learn


from home. We usually have 2 or 3 lessons a day, so it is not difficult at
all.
- On normal school days I had 7 lessons every week, so it was difficult.
What would you change in the Hungarian school system?
- Perhaps I would have fewer lessons a day but I don’t really now. Many
depends on the relationship between teachers and students.

Now, let’s start task 2. You’ve got half a minute to study your task.

You are spending one year in New York and you are staying with a host family.
Ask your host (the examiner) for his/her permission to go to the Robbie
Williams concert.
Include the following points:

Prompts for the interlocutor:

● Do you have any plans for the weekend? – Yes, I would like to go to the
Robbie Williams concert. Can I go there?

● I can’t let you go there alone. – I don’t want to go alone. I would like to
go with Hannah. Is it OK?

● I’ll let you go if you take a taxi home. Here’s $20 for that. And come
home right after the concert. – Ok, I am very happy. Thank you for the
money, I promise I will take a taxi.

● What about the tickets? – I have already bought the tickets. I hope you
don’t mind.

This is your last task. You can study the paper for half a minute to get ready.

CANDIDATE’S TASK SHEET

Compare and contrast the two pictures about healthy and unhealthy foods.
Include the following points:

* the places and meals


- In the first picture I can see healthy foods. meat, fish, eggs, fruits and
vegetables, milk and cheese. In the second picture I can see junk food, a
hamburger, chips and coke. These are unhealthy foods.

* homemade – fast food


- Homemade meals are healthier than fast food. I usually eat at home, I never go
to a fast food restaurant.

* healthy – unhealthy (junk) food


- Healthy food is full of vitamins, for example fruits and vegetables. Junk food is
unhealthy because it is full of preservatives (tartósítószerek).

* your way of having a meal


- I usually eat at home. I cook for myself. I like cooking and baking. I often
make soups, meats, I like to make and eat vegetables. my favourite vegetables
are potatoes, pepper, carrot and cucumber. I like fruits too, for example apple,
banana and pear. My favourite meal is paprika potatoes. I really like it.

● Where do you usually have lunch?


I always have lunch at home. I have online teaching, so I usually cook
every day. When I am at school, either my mom or I cook.

● What about fruits, vegetables, hamburgers, pizzas, chips?


I like fruits and vegetables and I never go to a fast food restaurant, so I
don’t relay eat hamburgers. I sometimes eat pizza and chips but very
rarely.

● Do you eat healthily?


Yes, I think I eat healthily because I usually eat at home and I never go to
a fast food restaurant.

● What are the disadvantages of junk food?


It’s full of preservatives and there are no vitamins in them. And these are
also full of calories.
