1 SOLVE ANY FOUR QUESTIONS

a) A circuit having a resistance of 15Ω and an inductance [5] CO1 L2
of 0.15 H in series, is connected across a 180 V, 50 Hz
supply. Calculate:
(a) the impedance;
(b) the current;
(c) the voltages across R, L;
(d) Power consumed {each of 1 Mark }

b) A coil, having a resistance of 20 Ω and an inductance [5] CO1 L3

of 0.0382 H, is connected in parallel with a circuit
consisting of a 150 μF capacitor in series with a 10 Ω
resistor. The arrangement is connected to a 230 V, 50
Hz supply. Determine the current in each branch and
the total supply current.
