Chapter 3

METHODS AND PROCEDURE

This chapter presents and discusses the research design,

respondents of the study, data gathering tools, data gathering

procedure and statistical tool that will use in the study.

Research Design

This study will employ descriptive correlational method.

Descriptive study design will be used to describe the extent of

implementation of MASA MASID Program in Baggao, Cagayan for

Calendar Year 2019 and correlational study design will be used to

show the significant difference among the assessment of the three

groups of respondents on the extent of implementation of the MASA

MASID Program and the significant relationship between the

profile variables of the PNP Personnel respondents and their

assessment on the extent of implementation of MASA MASID Program.

Respondents of the Study

The study covers all the police officer of San Jose,

Poblacion, and Tallang Police Station as the primary respondents

which will be identified using total enumeration scheme.

Furthermore, the pools of respondents in this study will also

include barangay officials of selected barangays who will be

identified using purposive sampling and residents of the

barangays who will be identified using quota sampling.

Data Gathering Tool

The researchers patterned the questionnaire from the study

of Lora, J. (2017) entitled, “Mamamayan Ayaw sa Anomalya,

Mamamayan Ayaw Sa Iligal na Droga: A Comprehensive Approach”

which was modified in order to include other data needed in this

study. The study’s data gathering tool will be composed of two

parts. The first part will be used to collect data on the profile

of PNP respondents. The second part of the questionnaire will be

used to assess the implementation of MASA MASID that will be

based on the information given by the barangay officials of

selected barangays and residents of Baggao, Cagayan. Other

relevant information will obtain from other sources such as the

internet, books, and other relevant researches.

Data Gathering Procedure

Permission to conduct the study will be obtained from the

President of the University through the Vice-President for

Academics noted by the College Dean. After the permission or

approval of the said authority, the questionnaire will be

administered to the respondents with the approval of Chief of

Police, Municipal Mayor and Barangay Captain.

During the administration of the questionnaire, the

researchers will explain the purpose of the study to the

respondents. The data to be gathered will be kept in strict

confidentiality and personally retrieved by the researchers in

order to ensure 100 percent retrieval rate.

Finally, the researchers will tabulate the result, analyze

and interpret the data.

Statistical Tool

For the data to be collected, it will be analyzed through

descriptive and inferential statistics. In the analysis of

profile variable of the PNP-respondents the simple frequency and

percentage will be employed. Weighted mean will use to determine

the extent of implementation on the program of Mamamayang Ayaw

Sa Anomalya, Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Iligal na Droga (MASA MASID)

Program To further interpret what weighted mean the following is

a descriptive scale that will use.

Numerical Value Mean range Descriptive Scale

Very Much
3 2.34-3.00 Implemented
2 1.67-2.33 Implemented

1 1.00-1.66 Not Implemented

To determine the significant difference among the assessment

of the three groups of respondents on the extent of

implementation of the MASA MASID Program relative to Anti-

Criminality, Anti- Corruption, and Anti- Illegal Drugs, ANOVA

will be used.

To determine the significant relationship between the

profile variables of the PNP Personnel respondents and the

assessment on the extent of implementation of MASA MASID Program,

Pearson R will be used.
