This chapter presents research design, locale of the study, respondents of the

study, research sample, research instrument, data gathering, and statistical treatment

and analysis of data.

Research Design

This study will use a Descriptive research design. This research design aims to

describe the characteristics of the population or phenomenon studied. McCombes

(2019) also define descriptive research design as appropriate choice when the research

aim is to identify characteristics, frequencies, trends, and categories.

This design will be suitable in describing the respondents' profile in terms of age,

sex, length of service. In addition, the research design will be appropriate in describing

the respondent’s problems encountered during firefighting operation and respondents

coping strategies.

count. Due to the limited number of the subject-respondents, the researchers decided

to include all the population in a said correctional facility.

In gathering the needed data for this study, the following procedure will be

undertaken.

First, the researchers will write a letter to the Academic Head of Illana Bay

Integrated Computer College Inc. asking permission to conduct the study. Second, after

the approval of the Academic Head, the researchers will also give a permission letter

and wait the approval from the office of Bureau Fire Protection. Thirdly, the researchers

and prepare the data for the presentation, analysis and interpretation of the result.

Statistical Treatment of Data
