The Zambia Universities Sports Association (ZUSA) have the pleasure to invite
all the universities to the second phase of the 2024 Varsity Games to be held in
Lusaka at Heroes stadium, Levy Mwanawasa Medical University and The
University of Zambia sports fields from 3 rd to 5th May, 2024.The games will
governed by (ZUSA regulations of 2017). For Athletics (ZUSA regulations Article
8.1), Netball (ZUSA regulations article 8.4) and Rugby (ZUSA regulations article
8.9).

1. Arrival at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University is Friday, 3rd May, 2024

while departure date is Monday 6th May, 2024. This is to allow for
accreditation, Official Opening Ceremony, teams acclimatization at
competition venues especially Heroes Stadium, cross country route at
UNZA and other preparatory activities on Friday.
2. All students must through their Heads of Delegation register all the
players and must ensure that they have the relevant identification cards:
1. Valid student identification Card
2. Valid National Registration Card
3. Valid Academic Eligibility Form.
4. Team list for Athletics according to events.

Kindly, therefore, note, that no student shall be allowed to

participate without producing above captioned
documents.Particpants must be 25years and bellow and must be
current students and not graduating students.ZUSA shall take
severe punishment on institutions and officials involved in
cheating.

3. The Institutions that have not yet paid affiliation fee for 2024 must
ensure to pay. The fee is K32, 000.00 for Public institutions and K16,
000.00 for Private institutions. The fee must be paid in advance prior to
the games. Institutions not affiliated will not be allowed to compete.
Bringing cheques during the competitions makes operations very
difficult for ZUSA.

4. Host fees of K2, 000 must be paid to host institution (Levy

Mwanawasa) upon arrival. Accommodation fee is K2, 500 as agreed at
the 2023 AGM held in Livingstone.

5. Participation fee for these inter-varsity Athletics, Rugby, and Netball

gent’s games is K5, 000.00 per institution. This fee will allow institutions to
compete in;

i) Rugby 10s (Gents)------------------ 15 players

ii) Athletics: Track events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m open
5000m (Open), 10,000m (Open), 4 x 100m (open), and 4 x 400m
relays.
Field events: Long jump, Triple jump, discus, short put and Javelin.
iii) Netball Gents ----------------------- 12 players
iv) Cross country- (6km ladies)---------- 5 participants
v) Cross country – (10km gents)---------5 participants players
4. Kindly note, that Athletics will be held at Heroes stadium while Rugby,
Netball gents and Cross country will be held at the University of Zambia.
5. Kindly note that each institution shall have two entries per event in
athletics (maximum) and a participant can enter one field and two
track events or one track event and two field events
6. Each institution shall cater for their officer’s Daily Substance Allowance,
transport and other logistics as per their conditions of service.
7. Student accommodation, will be provided at Levy Mwanawasa Medical
University, which will be the athlete Village for ZUSA phase 2 games. All
Institutions are guided to carry their own mattresses and they will be
accommodated in classrooms. All students in the athlete village must
adhere to (ZUSA regulations of 2017, article 1.7). Delegation Officials

8. Athletes are expected to observe high levels of discipline, while in the
athlete village and during games. For any clarification please feel free to
