it to everything that involves processing or conciliating between sound and meaning. By
focusing on enhancing listening skills, we contribute to the educational advancement of
students at Saigon University. Improved listening skills are crucial for academic success and
future career prospects, especially in an increasingly globalized world where English
proficiency is highly valued.

3. METHODOLOGY
a) Research family: state which research family you use and explain why you use it
I decide to use qualitative research in order to focus on in-depth exploration and
understanding. The reasons why I use qualitative research is that
qualitative methods allow us to explore the context, experiences, and perceptions
and feelings of participants related to using the STUDY4 website for English
listening practice. . We can delve into the nuances of how students engage with the
platform, their challenges, and explore variations in students’ learning styles,
preferences, and strategies.
b) Research approach: state which research approach you use and explain why you

The data was collected through surveys to gather information on students' use
of the website and their perceptions of its effectiveness. Surveys allow us to
collect data from a large number of participants. Given that our study aims to
explore the impact of the STUDY4 website on listening skills, a survey can
provide insights from a diverse group of sophomores. Surveys generate
quantitative data, which can be statistically analyzed. This is particularly useful
for assessing the effectiveness of the STUDY4 website. We can quantify
responses related to listening skills improvement, frequency of website usage,
and overall satisfaction.
c) Research technique: state which research technique you use and explain why
you use it
Questionnaires technique is used in this research. This indicates that the
research technique used in the study involved the collection of qualitative data
through surveys. This technique was chosen to gather in-depth insights into
students' experiences with the STUDY4 website and their attitudes towards its
effectiveness.
d) Research instrument:
Table of specification (describe in detail what your instrument is, what it will
include and based on what ground/materials you will design your instrument)
In order to gather data for this study, a Google Form was administered online and
sent to 50 sophomore students from the English Language Department at Saigon
University randomly. We conduct interviews with students to explore
their perceptions, experiences, and challenges related to using STUDY4. Create a
guide with open-ended questions; for instance: “How often do they visit the
website?”, “Which features do they use?”, “What aspects of the website enhance
their listening skills?”, explore difficulties they encounter (e.g., technical issues,
content comprehension), gather their ideas for enhancing the website.

We selected 50 sophomore students from the English Language Department at
Saigon University to participate in the research. The participants were selected
through a convenience sampling method. This means that the participants were
chosen based on their convenient availability and accessibility for the study. The
data collection involved surveys and interviews with these students to gather
information on their use of the STUDY4 website and their perceptions of its
effectiveness in enhancing their listening skills.

The research site for this study was Saigon University, specifically focusing on the
English Language Department. The STUDY4 website was used as a supplementary
tool to support classroom instruction for sophomore students at Saigon University.
The university provided the environment for the implementation of the study and
the use of the STUDY4 website as a tool for enhancing students' listening skills.
g) Data collection procedure: state the steps you will conduct to collect empirical
data to answer your Research questions
The data collection procedure involved the use of surveys to gather empirical data
to answer the research questions. The steps conducted to collect empirical data
included:
- Designing surveys: We designed surveys to gather information on students' use
of the STUDY4 website, their attitudes towards the website, and the impact of
the website on their listening comprehension.
- Administering surveys: The surveys were administered to the participants to
collect quantitative data on their use of the website and their attitudes towards it.
These steps were designed to collect qualitative and quantitative empirical data to
address the research questions related to the impact of the STUDY4 website on
students' listening skills and their attitudes towards the website.
