FORMS OF
SOCIETIES
GROUP 3
What
What is a Society?
Society is motion rather than an structure, a process
object. The mutual interaction and relationships between
people make up society, as does the structure that is
created by these relationships. As a result, society does
not refer to a collection of individuals but rather to the
intricate web of social norms that develops between them.
HUNTER-GATHERER
Society
THESE ARE THE EARLIEST AND SIMPLEST
FORM OF SOCIETY WHICH SURVIVED BY
HUNTING ANIMALS AND HARVESTING WILD
PLANTS.
THEY WERE MOSTLY NOMADIC DUE TO
ANIMAL MIGRATIONS AND SEASON CHANGES.
THESE SOCIETIES GIVES US AN IDEA OF HOW
EARLY HUMANS BUILT THE FIRST SOCIETIES
AS WELL AS WHAT THEY PRIORITIZED ABOVE
ALL.

EXAMPLE:
.
PASTORAL
Society
THESE ARE NOMADIC SOCIETIES THAT FOCUS ON
MAKING TEMPORARY ANIMAL PASTURES AND
FARMS
THEY OFTEN HAVE LIMITED RELIANCE ON
AGRICULTURE, BUT MAY PRACTICE HUNTING AND
GATHERING IN ADDITION TO HERDING.
PASTORAL SOCIETIES, OFTEN FOUND IN
CHALLENGING AGRICULTURAL REGIONS, ARE
ASSOCIATED WITH NOMADIC LIFESTYLES, AS THEY
MOVE THEIR HERDS FOR FRESH PASTURES AND
WATER SOURCES.
PASTORAL SOCIETIES PRIMARILY RELY ON RAISING
AND HERDING LIVESTOCK LIKE SHEEP, GOATS,
CATTLE, CAMELS, OR REINDEER FOR THEIR
PRODUCTS LIKE MEAT, MILK, FUR, AND HIDES.
.
EXAMPLE:
.
AGRAGRIAN
Society
THESE SOCIETIES WERE ALL PERMANENT AND
HAD A STRATIFIED SOCIETY.
THESE SOCIETIES EXPERIENCED BOTH
TECHNOLOGICAL AND ECONOMICAL
GROWTH THROUGH TRADING AND NEW
FARMING TECHNIQUES.
THROUGH THE STUDY OF THESE SOCIETIES
WE CAN SEE WHEN HUMAN CIVILIZATION
STARTED TO RISE IN AREAS SUCH AS CHINA,
GREECE, EGYPT, AND MESOAMERICA.
.
INDUSTRIAL
Society
DUE TO THE TECHNOLOGICAL AND
ECONOMIC PROGRESS OF THE INDUSTRIAL
REVOLUTION, THE SOCIETIES IN THIS TIME
WERE MORE PROFIT DRIVEN RATHER THAN
MORALITY DRIVEN.
BECAUSE OF THE TECHNOLOGICAL
PROGRESS, HUMAN POPULATION INCREASED
GREATLY WHILE THE MORTALITY RATE
DECREASED SLOWLY.
IN THIS SOCIETY WE CAN SEE THE EFFECTS
OF INDUSTRIALIZATION IN THE FORM OF
EASY TO ACCESS GOODS, HEALTHCARE AND
EDUCATION.
.
WATT &
BOULTON
THESE TWO PEOPLE STARTED THE
INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION BY INVENTING A
STEAM POWERED ENGINE THAT HAS THE
POWER OF 12 HORSES.
.
VIRTUAL
Society
THIS SOCIETY IS THE CURRENT SOCIETY WE
LIVE IN AND IT PRIORITIZES INFORMATION
AND HIGH TECHNOLOGY RATHER THAN
MATERIAL THINGS.
THESE SOCIETIES HAVE BECOME MORE
KNOWLEDGABLE OF THE WORLD AROUND
THEM AND NOW WORK CLOSER TO
PROTECTING IT.
NOT MUCH IS KNOWN ABOUT THIS SOCIETY
AS IT IS STILL HAPPENING.
