Holding the pen
Encourage your child to hold the
pen in between the thumb and the
index finger, a little above the tip,
with a gap in between. The pen
should be resting on the middle Lefthanded | Right-handed
finger to support it. It should be
easy for your child to move the Right hand or left hand
pen up and down by moving
those three fingers onlu. You probably know by now which
hand your child favours. If not, this
book will help. You will probably
notice better pen control with one,
although some people are happy
to use both.

Don't press
down too —
hard.

Perfect posture
The book should be at a slight angle
— on the right side of your child’s
body for right-handers; on the left
side for left-handers. Sit at a flat
table or desk, feet on the floor and
back straight.
Tracing shapes

Buzzy Bee shops! at
You will need: 4 |>
- 2 to 4 players
- Dice - The money cards over the page
- 1 counter per player - The game board at the back of the book
How to play:
1. Before you play, arrange the money cards so that they are face up.
2 In this game, each player must take it in turns to roll the dice and move around the
board buying toys for Buzzy Bee. To decide who goes first, each player must roll the
dice and the player who rolls the highest number goes first.
S If you land on a toy with a price tag, choose the right money to pay for the item from
the money cards on the table, then place the correct amount of money on the space
in the middle of the board.
4. Some of the spaces you land on allow you to move forwards or move backwards.
5. The first player to make it all the way around the board to the hive wins.

Spend, spend, spend!

You will need:
- 3 players - The money cards over the page
- Pen and paper
- Dice 7

How to play: & |

ee The aim of this game is to use the correct amount of money to buy the most items.
Before you play, you need to choose which player will be the shopkeeper. The other
two players will be the shoppers.
2 The shopkeeper will draw six items, which can be bought in their shop onto a piece of
paper. These are numbered from 1 to 6. Each item should be a different price
from 1p up to 10p.
3. Put the money cards face down, and then divide them between each shopper, so you
each have 10 money cards. You can always draw more money cards if you want to.
4. The shoppers take it in turns to roll the dice. Whichever number you roll, you must
buy that item on the list and pay the money to the shopkeeper.
5. The first shopper to spend all their money loses the game, meaning that the shopper
with money left to spend wins.
