INTRODUCTION

Inside of my process of academic formation is very important to be in contact


with students, to put in practice the knowledge, the theory part, methodologies that I
have acquired in my learning process. On this way I can have some good experiences.
I consider that is not the same the theory part that we received in the college in our
learning process that when we put in practice in the classroom with real students.

In my case this practice has helped a lot because I have learned how to select
a pedagogical resource and all the aspects to consider around the assessments. On
that way I will be able to design significant activities that help my students in their
learning process. In this practice I can confirm that children are more comfortable than
adults when they are learning a new language in this case English.

The school that I have choose for this practice have a different methodology
focus on the student. In the English class there are 29 students, but the classroom is
divided in two parts, it means that there are two English teacher for the same level. So,
they only work with the half of the students. Teacher has to personalized the class and
use as many resources as she can to achieve the objectives. I think, students have
learned in the best way.
CONTENTS

In this pre professional practices I have the opportunity to put in practices with
students, the theories and knowledge that I have acquired during my academic
process. In this school the principals are very concerned about the educational profile
for this reason students receive four subjects in English: Literature, Science, English
Language and Sign Up. For this group of 7 th grade I prepare a review about Simple
Past.

As an introductory activity I showed a video to activate the previous knowledge


in which students have to take notes as many verbs in simple past as they can. While
they are looking the video students try to copy the verbs in simple past.
When the video finished, I used the slides that I have already prepared for this group
to reinforce the information that students have received in the video. So, students make
question about the different variants of the verbs in simple past.

I make groups of students to know if they have cleared the topic or probably,
they need to reinforce any part of the lesson. As a group they create a short story about
your last birthday. Students work cooperatively to complete the short the activity. When
students finished, I chose two or three students to read your story. So, all students of
this group want to participate in class, this is very useful for the students.

When the class finished, I have to do a little review to know if all the students as
a group and individually have to achieve the objectives. To consolidate the knowledge
acquired for the students, I have prepared a little homework for this group. Students
have to do homework at home remembering the previous class.
ANALYSIS

This pre professional practice have been the practice part of the theories that I have learned during
this previous semester. I have received many subjects during my career that have contributed for
this itinerary. For example, in the case of the subject of Learning Experiences Second
Language Acquisition and Bilingualism I have learned about the role of grammar in second
language acquisition to offer students the means for potentially limitless linguistic creativity. In this
class to allow students to experience the language through communication.

Another subject that has contributed for these practices was Methodology for Teaching
English to Youngsters and Adults. In this subject I have learned about the approaches, methods
and technique that we use in the process of learning. On the other hand, I learn about the
difference between Learning a language and Acquiring Learning

English Vantage B2.2 this subject has been contributed with all the term, vocabulary, the
grammatical rules, here in this subject I have learned the components of the easy, that it is very
useful for this writing report.

In this class I can demonstrate some areas that I feel more comfortable like in the case to
teach grammar to the students, answering questions about any doubt that they have. Also, there
was a little complicated to keep the control of the class because some students lost the attention
to the class and maybe they play or tell a joke.

I think the most difficult part of this practice was catch the attention of this group of students,
because they are children, also this group is very restless they lost the attention in any part of the
class, but when finally, this is achieved this group was excellent all the students want to participate
in the class. Also, they are motivated to participated.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

These practices were a great experience, I could get to know how to teach to a
group of students. It was a little difficult and different, specially at the beginning of the
class, I feel so nervous, but as the class progresses, I feel more comfortable with the
group of students. It also these students like to participate a lot in class, they ask if they
do not have very clear the topic, or doubt.

In this institution they use a student’s center learning it means they have a more
personalized learning, they divided each grade for two English teachers, for example
the group in which I make a demonstrative class has 12 students, I think it is better for
the students. It also helps them to achieve the goals at the end of the year.

Another important aspect that I could observe in this school was the subject
Science that they receive in English on that way students can feel more comfortable
practicing English in a subject that they are familiarized. The activities and the
presentation that the school make is in English, for example mother and Father’s Day.

In this school when student finished the 7th grade, they have level B1 certificated.
In my personal opinion I do not have much to recommend. I like a lot the methodologies
that they use. The only recommendation is to teach students to be more independent.
