The objective of this lesson observation form is to provide you with some general information and
data about the lessons you will observe, especially how successful, in your opinion, the teacher was
in achieving the lesson expectations and in creating an environment that contributes to learning.
Please note that this form MUST be filled out for every lesson you observe.

1. What were, in your opinion, the main aims of this lesson? Were they achieved? How
do youknow?
I think that the objective of the class was to teach students how to express their opinions. And yes,
the main objective of the class was achieved, at the end of the lesson students were able to
communicate their own opinions.
2. Briefly describe the general atmosphere of the class. In what ways did the teacher's
personalityand behavior contribute to that atmosphere?

The atmosphere was good. However, there were not many opportunities for students to talk, I think
that was the reason they were a little inactive.

3. Briefly describe the learners' general behavior/attitude and their involvement in


activities and tasks. What, in your opinion, most contributed to their behavior/attitude
and their involvement?

They were focused in the class; the warm-up was enjoyable and it made the students feel
comfortable with the teacher.

4. List all materials and equipment used in this lesson (course book, blackboard, audio-
visual aids,etc.)

The teacher used visual aids, an online game, a power point presentation and vocaroo.

5. Estimate, using a percentage, the amount of time the teacher talked compared to the

students’mother tongue (if applicable)?

a) How is/was the lesson started?

It was started by playing a game where students as the warm-up.

b) What does/did the teacher do?

The teacher asked the students to watch a short video and after that they had to guess
what would have happened after.

Yes, they did.

Yes, everyone was interested in the class. As it was a student-centered class, everyone was
participating all the time.

f) Does/Did the lesson finish on time

Yes, the time was well managed.

g) Is/Was there a clear ending in the lesson

Yes, the teacher corrected some mistakes made in the opinions given by the students and she
did a short summary of what students learned.

8. Observe the way the teacher corrects students during the lesson.

a) Are mistakes corrected immediately?

Yes

b) How are they corrected?

The teacher told students to check their opinions again, and then they realized that they
made a mistake.

c) Are students corrected in the same way no matter what they are doing: grammar
tasks,listening, reading, speaking or writing tasks?

No, the teacher used different ways to correct them depending on the exercise they were
doing.

d) Does the teacher encourage self-correction?

Yes, he does.

e) Does s/he praise students?

Yes

a) One thing I particularly liked in this lesson was:

I liked the way of how the teacher organized the whole class, and how he managed the time in
each activity.

b) One thing I found rather ineffective in this lesson was:

Anything, everything was great.

Additional Comments:

It was a nice class, but It would have been better if the students would have had more opportunities
to participate.
