MALDIVES.
The Descriptions included in the Bill of Quantities are not necessarily complete and the Contractor
shall be deemed to have taken account of all the other information necessary to establish the correct
total rates and prices for the Project cost including but not limited to all information shown on the
Drawings, Specifications and contained within the Notes, Measurement and Rate Clauses and the
Trade Preambles.
Unless a Specific item is provided elsewhere in the Bills of Quantities all prices and rates quoted by
the contractor shall take in to account all cost in relation to the performance of the contract and
completing same including but not limited to the following.
A. GENERAL
1 The Cost of complying with the Conditions of Contract, Specifications, Drawings and other
documents attached herewith.
The contractor is advised to examine all documents including Drawings, visit and inspect the site and
surroundings, condition and proximity of properties, service lines & buildings, nature of the soil,
access to the site, working and storage space, conditions affecting supply and storage of materials,
employment of labour, using of plant and equipment in the execution of works. No claim for extras
will be allowed for errors or omissions arising from his failure to satisfy himself on these matters.
2 Materials, goods components, fittings, plant & equipment and all costs in connection therewith
including conveyance, delivery, unloading, storing, returning, packing, handling, hoisting, lowering
etc
3 Fitting and fixing materials, goods components, fittings, plant & equipment in position.
5 All cost in connection with obtaining and maintaining, guarantees and insurance policies as required
by the conditions of the contract.
6 All cost in connection with complying with the notes and preambles in each of the Bills and/or
Schedules in the Bills of Quantities unless otherwise provided elsewhere.
7 Priority of Document;
The Following document forming the contract are to be taken as mutually explanatory of one
another. For the purposes of interpretation, Priority of the document shall be in accordance with the
following sequence:
a) The contract agreement (if any )
b) The Later of Acceptance; ( If any )
c) Memorandum of understanding (If any )
d) Latter of Tender
e) The particulr condtion Part A- contract data;
f) The particulr condtion Part B- Special Provisions
g) These General Condition
h) The specification;
i) The Drawings ;
j) The Schedules (The Bills of Quantitates, and any other schedules or document forming part of
the contract.)
8 Carrying out all tests required by the specification and otherwise to ensure the approval of the
Architect/Engineer for materials, Workmanship and method of construction to be incorporated in the
works.
9 Provide all written guarantees for materials and equipment prior to completion of the works, as
described in the specifications, including the cost of all materials and labour for testing and all
laboratory fees, cost of testing, equipment, transport and everything else necessary for testing unless
otherwise separately measured.
1 The contractor shall prepare his own shop/working drawings and material/component schedules.
Contractor should forwarded 6 copies of shop drawings for approval. After approval 2 copies will be
returned to the contractor, 2 copies will be forward to the employer and 2 copies will be retained by
the engineer.
2 Should the contractor require any explanations or clarifications as to the drawings and/or principles
of measurement adopted herein should consult with the Architect/Engineer in order to obtain the
correct understanding or meaning as no claim will be entertained on the grounds that the contractor
misunderstood or misinterpreted the intent of any drawing or item appearing in the Bill of Quantities.
All measurements are net and as described in the preambles.
3 The Bill of Quantities shall not be used for the purpose ordering materials or components
1 The contractor shall set out the works in accordance with the dimension and levels shown on the
drawings and shall be responsible for the correctness of all dimensions and levels so set out by him
and will be required to amend all errors arising from an inaccurate setting out at his own cost and
expense.
2 In the event of any error, ambiguity or discrepancy in the dimensions or levels shown on the
drawings being discovered, such errors ambiguities or discrepancies shall then be reported to the
Architect/Engineer for his attention and necessary clarifications and instructions obtained.
3 The contractor shall provide all labour, equipment, instrument and any other assistance to check the
level and setting out unless otherwise provided elsewhere.
D AS-BUILT DRAWINGS
1 All cost in connection with preparing and submitting one original and two sets of hard copies and a
soft copy of as-built drawings, incorporating all changes and variations from the contract drawings
for the future use of the employer
E ROTECTION OF WORKS.
The contractor shall cover up and protect all finished work and work in progress liable to damage
until completion of the works and shall be responsible for the work. Fixtures and fittings until
completion and hand over.
1 The contractor shall be responsible for and shall ensure the safety and welfare of his work people and
those of his sub-contractors.
2 The contractor shall comply with all the provisions of the factories safety acts together with rules,
regulations and orders made there under unless otherwise provided elsewhere.
G ATTENDANCE
1
Attendance shall be provided by the contractor for the works identified as per conditions of contract.
1 Two weeks prior to the completion and hand over of the works the contractor shall prepare and
submit two copies of the operation and maintenance manual for the installation indicating adjustment
and spares recommended for the installation of the Engineer/Employer.
1 After the completion of installation and hand over, the contractor shall operate the installation for a
period of one week. During this period the contractor shall train personnel of the Employer in the
proper operation and routine checks of the installation.
1 Unless a separate item is provided elsewhere in the Bills of Quantities the contractor shall upon
completion of the works remove and clear away all temporary structures, plant, rubbish and unused
materials and shall leave the whole of the site of the works in a clean and tidy state to the satisfaction
of the Architect/Engineer. He shall also remove all rubbish and dirt from the site at regular intervals
or as directed.
NETWORK SYSTEMS
2.3 Rates for materials/ plants/ equipment's not approved for Note
duty free facilities to be quoted on duty paid basis.
2.4 Rate shall include the supply, installation, testing and Note
witnessing of testing of manufacture's work,
commissioning and maintenance (during defects liability
period ) of local area network & Telephone , DATA,
WI-FI, IPTV, Wiring Systems complete to working
order with all other connections as per the Drawings and
Technical Specifications and Local Regulations and to
the entire satisfaction of the Engineer.
2.5 The rates shall include for providing insurance during Note
handling, rehandling, transport and storage until ready for
installation, delivery of equipment up to point of
installation and until handing over.
2.10 Rack shall be consist with fiber/ CAT 6 Patch panels, Note
Fiber/ CAT Patch code, POE network switches, UPS
units, Amplifiers & Etc. necessary MMF SFP
Transceivers, media converts shall be used.
2.14 Note
Not to limited to the BOQ, contractor should be identify
required items as per the drawings and relevant stranded

2.16 Cable trays to be fixed to floor slab with galvanized steel Note
brackets.
2.17 Rate to include for supply and installation of cable tray, Note
GS rods, GS brackets, nuts, washers etc., for fixing of
cable tray suspended from under the floor slab above and/
or supported from walls, as per approved method.
