Activity: Choose 1 statement and reflect on it. What do you think and feel about it?

Statement No. 3
"Students are too young to solve life's problem, why should they do problem solving
in school?"

In the said statement, students are too young to solve life’s problem. In my
opinion it is true but some students are already known how to solve life’s problem at
a young age. How can I say so? Students have a different lifestyle that they’ve
grown up. They know how to decide and react in every situation in life. I will apply
this statement in me. As a student, my life outside the school was different. I need to
think wise, not only about myself but also others around me. My family, siblings,
friends and others that are connected to me. In decision making I need to consider
other thoughts, emotions and opinion to avoid problems. Those problems that might
be small or big. The point of the statement is students are too young to solve life’s
problem, why should they do problem solving in school? Teaching a problem solving
in school was not always about life, it may be in solving mathematical problems.
Teaching problem solving in school was like a guideline for students to be ready in
solving problems in real life. They are being taught how to think widely and wisely to
solve the problem. It is practice for them to control they’re minds to think critically
and think the best solution to solve the problem. Students are being taught how to
manage and react to a simple problem so that when they face reality in life, they will
know how to handle it. If a school don’t teach the students about problem solving the
they don’t have enough idea on how to solve problems or struggles that will come in
to their lives someday.
