THE MIND (FLESH) AND THE MIND OF CHRIST(SPIRIT)

1 Corinthians 2:15-16
16 for,“Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?”[a]But we have the mind of
Christ.

OUR MIND(FLESH)
Genesis 3:1-6
1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to
the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”2 And the woman said to the
serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the
garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”4 Then the serpent said to the
woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and
you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,
that it was [a]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also
gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

Numbers 21:4-6
The Bronze Serpent
4 Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and
the soul of the people became very [b]discouraged on the way. 5 And the people spoke against God
and against Moses: “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness?
For there is no food and no water, and our soul [c]loathes this worthless
bread.” 6 So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the
people of Israel died.7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have
spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us.” So
Moses prayed for the people.

Deuteronomy 29:3-5
3 With your own eyes you saw those great trials, those signs and great wonders. 4 But to this day
the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.

1 Samuel 13:1,7-14
Saul’s Unlawful Sacrifice
13 Saul [a]reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,
7 And some of the Hebrews crossed over the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead.
As for Saul, he was still in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling. 8 Then he waited seven days,
according to the time set by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from
him. 9 So Saul said, “Bring a burnt offering and peace offerings here to me.” And he offered the burnt
offering. 10 Now it happened, as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering, that Samuel came; and
Saul went out to meet him, that he might [d]greet him.11 And Samuel said, “What have you done?”Saul said,
“When I saw that the people were scattered fromme, and that you did not come within the days appointed,
and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash, 12 then I said, ‘The Philistines will now come down on
me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord.’ Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt
offering.”13 And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of
the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over
Israel forever. 14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His
own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what
the Lord commanded you.”
Job 2:9-10
9 Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? [c]Curse God and die!”
But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from
God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.
Job 3:1-3
Job Deplores His Birth
1 After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. 2 And Job [a]spoke, and said:
3 “May the day perish on which I was born,And the night in which it was said,‘A male child is
conceived.’

Matthew 16:23
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are
not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

Romans 1:28
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind,
to do those things which are not fitting;

Romans 8:5-8
5For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who
live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be [a]carnally minded is death, but to be
spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the [b]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not
subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel
that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then
you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

THE MIND OF CHRIST

Numbers 23:19
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he
speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

John 6:5-7
5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we
buy bread for these people to eat?” 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind
what he was going to do.7 Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages[a] to
buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!”

Jeremiah 17:10
“I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.”
1 Chronicles 28:12
He gave him the plans of all that the Spirit had put in his mind for the courts of the temple of
the Lord and all the surrounding rooms, for the treasuries of the temple of God and for the treasuries for
the dedicated things.

hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”

2 Corinthians 10:5

take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Isaiah 55:8
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

1 Corinthians 2:11
For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows
the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to
dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
