The photo above is the one I took of the Golden Jubilee Thai Pavilion in University of the
Philippines last year. This pavilion is a gift from the Thai royal family because a daughter of the
royal family was a UPLB graduate in Agriculture. All of the materials were shipped from
Thailand, so in essence this is a 100% original Thai Pavilion. I chose this photo because this
represents the relationship with the Philippines and Thailand in terms of Asian Regionalism. We
help one another in our economy as ASEAN members and also through education by sharing
knowledge from our best schools to their best students and vice versa. Thus, new technologies
especially in Agriculture and Biology is sure to spread to the Asian region and would affect us as
citizens in the long run. It influences me as a student because it reminds me that even if I’m not a
foreign student, I still represent my country everyday, and maybe there’s a chance that I could
help the country in the future.
