The minister of National Defence, Cndido Pereira VanDnem, on a message addressed to the Vice President of the Republic, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, showed his conviction that in the new year the Vice President will continue to be a secure, effective and efficient person in assisting the Angolan Head of State, Jos Eduardo dos Santos, in his capacity as holder of the executive power. The Ministry of Defence will continue working so that in the light of ongoing modernisation in the Angolan Armed Forces , the army improve the readiness and mobility degree, fully available to take part in joint and combined operations in national context and international commitments the country made with various organisations. The car accident that resulted in a citizen being wounded happened in Luanda. The SNPCB also recorded eleven fire accidents, i.e. five in Luanda and the rest in the provinces of Malanje, Bie, Kwanza Sul, Bengo and Moxico, caused by negligence, short circuit, arson and gas leak.
