GE 9- LIFE AND WORKS OF RIZAL
Activity Title: "Rizal's Literary Legacy: Merchandise Making"
Objective: To explore the literary works of Jose Rizal and create merchandise inspired by
his writings, promoting appreciation, and understanding of his contributions to Philippine
literature. By engaging in this activity, students can deepen their understanding of Rizal's
literary contributions while also exercising their creativity and teamwork skills. It provides a
hands-on way to connect with Rizal's writings and promotes a greater appreciation for
Philippine literature and culture.
Activity Guidelines:
1. The class shall form groups with 4-5 members. Each group is tasked to brainstorm
ideas for Rizal-inspired merchandise. This could include items such as tote bags, t-
shirts, smartphone covers, tumblers/mugs, etc. IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT COPY
OR PLAGIARIZE SOMEONE’S WORK FOR THE INTERNET.
2. You can incorporate quotes, images, or symbols from Rizal's works into your designs.
Be creative and consider your target audience when designing your merchandise.
You can use any online designing tools such as Canva and Photoshop for this activity.
3. Once the merchandise is completed, explain the inspiration behind your designs and
how they relate to Rizal's literary works using a 150 to 200-word essay. Again, do
not plagiarize or copy from the internet.
4. Turn in the activity in MS Teams assignment. All members shall turn in.
5. Share photos of the merchandise on social media to reach a wider audience.
6. Any part of your activity that is copied directly or indirectly from the internet will
result to a failing mark on this activity.
