Conversation Partner Sign Ups

If you would like to make an American friend and have an opportunity to practice your English outside of class, then you should sign up for a conversation partner. TIEP students will be put in groups of 2-3 people and matched up with an American volunteer. You can meet together weekly with your group to talk and do activities together. Sign up for a conversation partner at Meghans desk in the Lobby before Feb. 8. If you sign up for a conversation partner, you will need to attend the Conversation Partner Party on Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 5:306:30 p.m. at TIEP. You will meet your conversation partner for the first time at the party!

Admissions Workshop
University Admissions Workshop Thursday, Feb. 2 1:00 p.m. Small Study Hall If you plan to attend a university in the U.S., you should come to this workshop. The advisors will talk to you about the admissions process to undergraduate and graduate programs and give you tips for selecting and applying to colleges.

Happy Lunar New Year!

Its the year of the DRAGON, the mightiest symbol on the Chinese zodiac. Celebrate the Year of the Dragon at Austins Chinatown Center. The fun activities will include facepainting, firecrackers, martial arts demonstrations, and performances by Dragon Dance teams. Immigration Information
Remember: If you move to a new apartment, dorm, or house, you must update your address with TIEP and the U.S. government within 10 days of your move. Please see one of the advisors in the Lobby if you need to update your address.

Harlem Globetrotters
Check out the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters TONIGHT at the Frank Erwin Center on the UT campus. The Globetrotters do basketball tricks and comedy performance shows. TIEP Policy Reminders

Parking: Students may not park in the TIEP parking lot. The parking lot is for TIEP faculty and staff ONLY. If you must drive to school, please park on the street (but watch for no parking signs) or purchase a parking permit from University Towers or San Gabriel Square Apartments.
