1. Engagement (Previous Lesson) Duration: 5 Minute

Initially, the teacher will introduce herself to the student, fostering a connection. Each student will be introduced to the topic. Prompted to
provide a concise introduction, sharing their favorite dance and musical preferences. This not only cultivates a sense of community but also
highlights the diverse cultural interests within the class. Following this, the teacher will proceed to teach a dance by dancing it for the students.
Teacher plays a short piece of music in Kaharba Taal (8 beats) on tabla/dhol/recording.
• Ask:
• “What do you feel when you hear this rhythm?”
• “Can you clap along with the beats?”
• Students try to clap naturally with the rhythm.
2. Exploration Duration: 5 Minute
Students explore the new concept through several methods and communicate with their peers and the teacher plays the role of a
facilitator.

exercises, rhythm, beats, and off beats. She will help the students by practice more and more till they cannot dance. They will ask
giving information and by showing movements. questions if they face any problem. They will complete the lesson
properly.
• Students attempt to clap 8 beats in a cycle with the teacher’s
guidance.
• Teacher divides the taal into two parts (4 + 4) and asks them to
count aloud:
“1 2 3 4 | 5 6 7 8”
• In pairs, students try clapping each other’s hands following the
taal.
3. Explanation (Teachers) Duration: 15 Minute
Students to come forward to describe their own understating within the group. Teacher checking for misunderstandings and give
formal definitions and explanations of concepts.

Students describe individual group work to the class, teacher can re-teach more details about the concepts in more details, copy
work and further explanation.
The teacher will observe the students' enthusiasm and positive response. Students will discuss their thoughts. If needed, the teacher will repeat
the process and ask students to review and check their understanding of what they have learned. The teacher will form groups into 'good',
better & 'best' and teach them accordingly until they learn properly. The teacher will teach: Taal- Kaharba (Description) Kaharba is the most
popular taal played on songs and dances. Due to its popularity, it is played on a variety of instruments, including the tabla, dholak and khol. Its
primary use is in songs and solo playing on this taal, which is non-existent.
• Students practice clapping the theka (basic rhythm) together.
• Some students try it with tabla/dholak (if available) or desk tapping.
• Teacher links it with a simple Bengali folk song or rhyme in Kaharba Taal so students experience taal with melody.
5. Evaluation (Student) Duration: 5 Minute
Teacher evaluates students understanding using self-assessment, peer-assessment, writing assignments, exams, projects, book
report or a model.
Students individually clap the 8 beat cycle correctly.
Teacher asks:
1."How many beats in Kaharba Taal?"
2."Which beats are tali and which is khali?"
Group Activity : teacher plays rhythm , students identify whether it is in Kaharba or not.
